Please consider implementing an overlay of grid lines to help you see what grid spaces are taken up by buildings and roads versus which are free.
For example, I’m trying to place decorations around the homes in my town, but they have large yards and I often mistakenly think the space is free. I end up having to wave the decoration around the area until I find an empty area. A grid overlay would make placement much less cumbersome.
