Camera Rotation Bad Stuttering

Hello, sorry if this has been answered before but is there a way to stop the game from hitching / freezing when I rotate the camera? It only happens when I move the camera a lot at once, mabye 90+ degrees, but it’s really annoying to have that happen when I’m getting 100fps otherwise.

It’s not about specs I have an i5 6600K, Nvidia 1080, 16GB RAM, SSD.

Thanks for your help.

First off, are you using mouse middle wheel or keyboard controls to move the camera.

Welcome to the forums

Hello there, I use the middle mouse button. I notice that it only lags once in a given spot, once all the textures etc load you can rotate the camera freely. It’s like the game isn’t using up enough RAM or vRAM to prevent this from happening.

Have to bump this up unfortunately, had the same issue since the beginning. Previously I blamed lacking hardware power, but I’ve assembled a monster rig recently, and it still happens. Just as the OP said, if you rotate a little it is usually ok. But if you do sharp big rotation swing it often stutters.

Any ideas?

My rig - i7-8700k, 2x16gb ddr4, RTX 2080, game is on SATA SSD.
I play in 4k all max except AA (not really needed in 4k).

My god i’ve just registered for this.

After reinstalling Windows 10 3 times and trying a hundred things like:

Disabling prefetch
Disabling pagefile
Disabling Windows 10 Game Bar
Disabling kaspersky antivirus
Disabling all startup services
Trying a few Nvidia drivers
Trying a dozen drivers for the chipset/sound/wifi/lan

I still have this problem.

Fast rotating the camera with the mouse freezes the game for 1-2 seconds. It happened with a 1080gtx and now with a 2070rtx.

So i would say it’s a HUGE game bug.

That’s been an issue since 1.0.1.0. AKA almost two fucking years. Not enough people actually rotate the camera, let alone properly with the mouse wheel, for it to ever likely get fixed. Only freezes for a fraction of a second for me though, a full 1-2 seconds sounds rough. Now that I think about it I’m not sure it still happens to me. If not, it had definitely been recently that it stopped. I’ll have to double check when I get to my computer…

yeah it doesn’t do it for me any more. i’m not sure when it stopped or whether the fix was hardware/os/game related or what.

attached my options if you want to try it out

It only happens on some maps.

Can you travel to Broken Hills and try? That’s the worst one.

Yeah you’re right, it still does it there.
