Can I buy Russian key and play in america?

Hello, sorry if I’m not in the correct section.

I want to buy this game and the Russian steam key is cheaper.

Can I buy and play here in america? May I have issues in the game?

It is a single player game. There is no region to my knowledge

Thank you so much, so I think I can play single player properly with the Russian version.

I need to use VPN just to activate the game on steam, does anyone know if I’ll need VPN to play online with friends? I know some games are “region” locked for multiplayer when bought on steam.
