Heard melee is nonviable at the highest difficulty, but I haven’t given up hope.
How are soldiers looking at launch now?
Does cadence allow other abilities like zoltan to proc on the third hit?

Cadence will override any weapon proc on the third hit. So, no.
Soldier was the most overpowered class before B31, don’t know why it shouldn’t even be viable now.

Im lvl 74 on elite with a mostly solider few points into nightblade sword and board tank hybrid. I am doing just fine. Granted Im not in ultimate yet but I have solid resists, 5k dps and 7k retaliation. Most things die rather quick. Oh and I am all blues with 1 lvl 50 legendary so I suspect when I get a few purple pieces Im going to continue to grow stronger.
I played until half Elite with a pure physical damage Soldier with a bit in Demo (flashbangs mostly) after I decided to reroll a caster.
The difference in power is abysmal, my caster can tank almost the same and the damage is unbelievable high, maybe i messed up the soldier build but its hard to get back to it playing my superpower conjurer
