Can we gather some Map Making Tips?

I’ve searched around and surprisingly haven’t been able to find any tutorials or even tips on creating maps. The official modding guide brushes on the basics enough to where most are able to start exploring the editor without causing too much damage but I’m looking for some tips for those who already understand the basics.
Maybe we can get a list going here or somebody can start a dedicated/cleaner thread for it. For now though, if you have any, or better yet have a video tutorial, feel free to post them here.

Protip: Turn off the Camera -> Auto-Movement (which for some reason is always on when you restart the Editor). Thank me later.

I could write up a few tips of using the brush when it comes to blending different textures to make the ground environment look a bit more varied/natural.

@Elfe - wow… I’m an asshole. I searched here and Google and couldn’t find a thing but yeah, from the looks of it, it seems like the thread you linked is exactly the type of guide I was looking for. Thanks!!

Edit- hey El…Creno, what does disabling free movement do exactly?

@Debased - yes! This is something I would love to have a better handle on. I do have to say though, using the default brush in the editor, two simular textures next to each other doesn’t look too too bad in game but I knew there had to be a better way to fade/blend them into each other. I haven’t fully read the thread Elfe posted so I’m not sure if the method is mentioned in that guide but if not, please please share the knowledge.
