Cast Speed for 2h Weapon "Spells"

When I saw the screenshot of the empowered Obsidian Juggernaut in a recent misadventure, I dusted off my old OJ build and played a bit with it. I really like the way the build plays (except the fact that the wave doesn’t work well around hills, even though a recent patch was supposed to fix that), but I’m having trouble with the speed.

Casters get a huge chunk of their cast speed from caster weapons and offhand items, but I don’t have access to that. I suppose it’s not the end of the world to only end up with 130 or so, but I’d like to get higher so I don’t feel so sluggish and can increase DPS/leech by increasing how often I use it. The fact that wave skills are considered spells makes sense, but it puts gearing for them in an awkward place.

Does anyone have a Forcewave, Winter King, Obsidian Juggernaut, etc. build and can suggest ways to increase cast speed without jeopardizing survivability (need it to stand still and spam in relatively close range)?

Take a look at Sobertooth’s Pyromancer for some ideas.

I’de also recommend Ch’thon’s Forcewave Commando for ideas on how to stack casting speed effectively. There’s a breakdown around pg. 16 on where he gets his casting speed if you’re intrigued.

Equipement is a key.

Because of the sizable penalty to attack speed on 2h, I actually like the casting speed scaling more.
