When we cast a spell, our equipped weapon/focus disappear for a moment, is there a way to prevent this? its extremely annoying.
No, it’s been this way for awhile now. I’ve forgotten why, and it does make me sad.
You would need to edit the animation .aif files to remove the hide/show hand calls and create overwriting animation assets.
But there was a reason you all had changed that, wasn’t there?

btw is that an offhand illusion on your weapon, or an actual offhand in your main hand? in any case, it looks pretty cool!
It is a modded illusion, an enslaved wraith skin changed to a sword, i wanted that magic in my hands feeling when i cast, thats why i’ve made that animation change too.
Yea that hidden item animation while casting annoys me a bit as well.
I haven’t dabbled with modding yet but both of these things are already on the todo list.
I guess the animation change will work in multiplayer and with old chars, but what about the illusion? Is that a database edit that requires everyone to have the same mod and start over?
All the changes are seen only by ppl who have the modifications, its just a database edit, but i’ve baked the changes directly into my client, so i can play my characters in the main game.

As I’m playing online a lot, I’d have to convince too many people to mod their game as well. But I guess I could buy another game copy from GOG and mod that version instead.
