I just gave my Cabalist the Black Scourge that my Conjurer found, thinking she has a better chance of actually killing something with Reap Spirit than my indeed “lazy summoner” Conjurer. To my surprise, I started seeing the teeny-tiny little Scourges popping up even when I was not trying to kill enemies directly! So, I have not seen in patch notes, but maybe they changed this mechanic finally?
As far as I know it’s still labeled wrong. “On death” when what it actually means is “on kill”
Why they started using on death as terminology is confusing. It sounds like any time a mob dies you get the proc. Nope. You’re probably just last hitting stuff with dot ticks etc.
No, I tested it. Even if I do not attack at all, my Black Scourges and Bound Spirits spawn just fine. In fact, just got the Pet Hoarder achievement thanks to this.
