There are factions in the game that do not fit into the “common” (individual) formats:
Cronley’s Gangs;
Order of Death Vigil / Kimon’s Chosen;
Aetherial Vanguard’s - excluded!
Considering that this faction can be increased through quests (if can drop) or kills (limited mobs) does not allow you to quickly reach Nemesis, the process is quite lengthy.
Factions: Location’s (Point’s) (no Warrant, approx, rounded, no Quest’s) (Ultimate diff)
Order of Death Vigil / Kimon’s Chosen: Tomb of Archon Barthollem (1250/?) + Fort Haron (900/?) + Fort Ikon (500/?) + Blood Grove (50/?) = 2700/? points = 8 times.
Most locations are not essential to the main storyline, so reputation farming is a matter of personal preference.
The item rewards for the quest are not significant. Therefore, it’s worth increasing the amount of reputation points earned.
Based on these calculations and farming conditions, I propose the following changes:
Increase the amount of reputation points earned for killing Cronley’s gang mobs.
Reduce the maximum amount of reputation points earned for “individual” factions from 20,000 to 16,000.
Increase the reputation reward for “individual” factions for the quest from 150 to 300 points.
This takes into account that the player moves from Normal to Ultimate difficulty with the complete completion of the storyline on both difficulties.
Death Vigil doesn’t just have a single source rep source btw.
and if you mean for nemesis state they are now one of the fastest since the rep increase, only takes a handful of runs to max out
i think you misunderstand then
Run either tomb of barthollem or fort Haron, (malkdar/barthollem boss or sister brawna/master ravok), there has been a rep increase so it takes very few kills now
*i don’t remember exact from when it was measured in a different topic, but like half a dozen runs with warrant, a dozen without, (can use the bounty spawn for bonus infamy too ofc)
Aside from Anasteria they are now one of the easiest/fastest faction to max out just target killing (the others actually kinda take longer since you do them through area progression)
Cronley sucks is true/been mentioned before/suggested getting the Kymon/Vigil rep bonus too (but didn’t)
Unsure what your gripe with Vanguard is tho, since that one should be pretty easy when you’re doing malmouth quests anyway
fwiw: 900 Kymon infamy for boss kill, and 420 for hero (tho they are rare without specific bounty),
not paying direct attention to trash, but adds up to quite a bit per run/“thousands
Even if that’s true, on Normal difficulty, a new player won’t deliberately raise the meter before reaching the Nemesis.
And beyond that point, depending on one’s needs, even 20,000 is too much.
This is because the developers didn’t have a plan for the game. However, given the upcoming release of the DLC, the situation can be rectified.
Maybe they’ll add more locations from Cronley’s territory this time around (making them Chthonian possessed/cursed would actually be a pretty good idea, by the way ).
I simply add the issue myself initially, and then fix it later as I go through the content.
The situation with Malmouth might be different, though. It’s just that after finishing the quests, I don’t really know what to do next. I do know where to farm crystals.
i don’t understand?
“do you want something or not” - if you want it you should go get it, that’s the point, and it was then made (much) easier to get if desired
and if you dont’ want it there is nothing for you to worry about
Same if you want XY end legend items/set drops; you’re gonna go out and have to kill stuff to get it, you wont get it standing around in devil’s crossing as lvl 10 on Normal.
It’s progression, “do x thing to progess” - to progress Vigil infamy you go kill vigils 12x
is this the same as the reflect/armour issue, where you’re finding a flaw without having tried to participate more in the mechanic then?
-the bar is there for you to fill it, if you’re missing some just go farm some bosses, do some malmouth bonus bounties on Ultimate to finish the reputation/infamy, it’s what it’s all meant for.
Do you think it’s a bad idea to lower the reputation max bar with a specific faction in order to fight a Nemesis?
That may be so, but the situation with Cronley’s prompted me to initiate this discussion. Therefore, I am including other factions in the discussion as well.
i think it’s vastly unnecessary, because if you participate in infamy gain with the others you will get it quickly
Exception being Cronley which doesn’t have the 2x bonus like Vigil/Kymon, or quest area amount like Malmouth, so takes a bit more effort than the rest (suppose technically it doesn’t take more “effort” just more boring because more resets)
And what if I don’t have the opportunity to play in a party?
So it is possible! The only question lies in analyzing the matter.
Yes, I was a bit hasty with Malmouth, but the main thing is to sort out the problem—then I’ll edit the idea card.
i don’t follow? - you don’t need a party to get infamy or kill stuff, you just go kill stuff, when you run out of enemies/when the boss in fort haron or tomb is dead, you go to main menu, enter world again, rinse repeat until you got the rep/infamy amount you wanted
And this process needs to be repeated about 10 times (just like with Cronley) EVEN WITH QUEST’s (+150 points) by then, I’ll have enough dynamite that I won’t need to farm negative reputation anymore.
Especially solo.
You can increase the reward points obtained from quests (if they pertain to a specific faction) or from killing bosses.
less, like i said, Kymon/Vigil gives way more per kill
and Malmouth is a larger area you’re already questing through “multiple” times, instead of just a single small pass so your end amount gets higher when completed Malmouth.
Technically Cronley isn’t more kills than others (same rep kill like beasts/malmouth/undead), but because they are condensed in a smaller area that has no native quest retreading, means we have to “boringly” manually reset the area for the same amount of final rep.
already gave you the numbers for Kymon/Vigil earlier, hasn’t changed since the update
Cronley is a simple fix of just increasing the base value they reward,
someone suggested a cronely gang monster totem (don’t think that’s all that inspired/Gang lack enemy variety), and i don’t think they’re going to add a new map with more Cronely quests to make it more “natural” progressing(would probably be weird lore wise with cronley gang in Kurn lands ), so increasing base amount is the simplest to soothe the lazy farmer.
I mean, what? I’m not a native myself so I know a lot can be lost in translation, but this line is a bit much.
So if you also clear the other areas with these factions, you should get to max infamy pretty quick. Then, warrants will allow you to power new chars to this level pretty fast.
Before the update mentioned above, you would need many more runs and it was a chore.
It’s not the most attractive aspect of the game but it’s honestly not too bad.
But is it a bad thing to reduce the maximum bar of reputation points?
Other’s? Where? Order have 2 locations (Blood Grove + Fort Haron) + 3 Quest’s (Random).
And that’s approximately 1,000 to 1,300 points.
To get the maximum amount for Nemisis, I need to clear it 10–15 times (20 if don’t luck).
