So it’s been a while since I’ve played Grim Dawn (basically just the base game). Just reinstalled it, but unfortunately don’t have any of my old saves around. Looks like the game has had a ton of changes in the last couple of years, so just looking for any recommendations for builds that are good for farming gear and mats?

Frankly anything with oathkeeper for Vire’s Might should be a good farmer, but playing sth you find enjoyable will be more important imo.

Depends what you want to play as, lots of viable beginner builds that can be competent endgame while farming for BiS items.
Like @HonorabruSudoku mentioned, have a look in the beginner builds compendium. Pre Belgo Blademaster is strong, as is lightning Primal strike warder budget version. Lots of stuff in there to choose from.
