Community Localizations (Build 20)

Hi,

On every magical items, there are new titles of qualification of item. If it is rare one-handed or legendary ring etc. In english is ok, but in other languages (for me Czech) is not possible to applicate gender support. Could it be there support for right view of this clasification in other languages?

This would be useful for Italian too.

If possible, in addition to gender support, it would be nice if we had a way to reorder the various words: for example the Italian equivalent of Rare Ring would be Anello Raro.

Guys, how do you even make a translation work?

Here’s my repro steps:

1. Download the zip file provided by Rhis in this post.
2. Move it to Grim Dawn/localizations folder.
3. Rename it to community_slovak.zip.
4. Edit the language.def -> change the first line to Language=Slovak.
5. Run the game.

Result: The new language does not show up in the list in the menu.

What am I missing here?

EDIT: Downloading a Czech translation zip file into the same folder also does nothing. I must be doing something wrong.

Your progress is good, try another languages as German or French. On some buuild I must restart Grim Dawn twice until I saw all zip files.

PS: Do you want to translate Grim Dawn into Slovak language?

That’s a bummer. No matter how many times I restart or what languages I download, nothing shows up in the language drop down menu.

This is usually the result of downloading your Grim Dawn from the pirate bay.

Yes, that’s exactly the case. No localization ever shows up in the options.

But if the problem shows only after you edit, I think maybe the file’s encoding is being changed.

Even downloading German, French, or Czech localizations from this forum and making zero change to them does not work, so it has likely nothing to do with encoding.

This is usually the result of downloading your Grim Dawn from the pirate bay.

No. I’m putting it in /localizations, according to:

Grim Dawn reads community localizations from the “/localizations” subdirectory of the location the game is installed.

Gender tags still does not works in answers.

Same problem in French. I hope it will be addressed in the next build.
