With regard to the translation of v1.0.1.1, there are currently two problems.
First: Since the v1.0.0.9, the official texts has not been released. So, I personally extracted the text necessary for translation and uploaded it for all translators. However, this is an urgent solution, and I do not have confidence that I could extract it correctly. So, we are hoping to do an accurate translation with the official texts.
Second: Currently, the version of the game is v.1.0.1.1 as shown above. However, since the language file to be downloaded from menu option remains v.1.0.0.9, it makes users distrust. Support of other countries is displayed in the language column of steam, so it would not be good that the language version is still old.
I agree with my fellow translators. It’s very important for the community that the version of the game it’s in-sync with translation version (lot of people ask, doubt).
Matougi’s files works great for now (thanks again, mate), but “official” files is better…
We (mostly) have been translating games for a very long time, we live with the spoilers (we know it) for people to get to play asap.
For this reason, is important catch up on translation, even if you make changes later on. It´s not the same thing translate 10.000 strings from scratch that we have to check 1.000 strings from a base (in short time)…
Hello people.
I’m translating this game into Turkish but I have a problem. I don’t know how to describe it well but let me explain it with an example.
Original text:
Barnabas: How goes the journey
Player: Where am I headed again?
Barnabas:Head northwest out of Devil's Crossing across the bridge ...
I see like this in game after translation:
Barnabas: Where am I headed again?
Player: Head northwest out of Devil's Crossing across the bridge ...
All the strings was mixed. I tried to match all the lines but it didn’t worked.
I’m using Wordpad for translaion, is this isn’t suit for this? Or where I do mistake?
In this case, it seems that one line was missing or two lines joined.
Important things in translation: The line number must be the same as the original text.
In translation of this game, the position of the line is very important, and it often becomes impossible to talk if the line number shifts. WordPad does not display the line number and can not confirm it, so it is not suitable for GD translation.
Maybe, I think that many translators are using Notepad++. This is a convenient editor for translating, for example, it can display the line number and can easily replace words between many texts.(note: make sure you are encoding in UTF-8 without the byte order marker.)
Another thing, WinMerge is useful for comparing old and new texts when updating.
I think these two tools are indispensable for GD translation.
Oh, I’m sorry my bad. I downloaded the files from a topic labeled “1.0.0.9”
Then I put the original text for Barnabas in my localization file.
After that, I tested ingame and original strings are shifted too.
And I returned to start.
Will try download from in game,
I tried but I can’t see English files.
Currently, the latest translation text file are not published, it’s only available from the localization portal. So, if you want texts for translation, you need to send a PM to Rhis and get a Turkish version localization portal.
Once you get the Turkish version of the localization portal, you will be able to not only get the latest translation file, but also upload Turkish translation file there and download them from the main menu in the game.
