Conjurer is probably the most versatile class in GD.
I play 2-h Savagery conjurer myself, and very fond of it.
You made several mistakes with your build:
Remove Primal Strike. You dont need it, really! Storm Touched also is so-so, you may put 2-3 points into it, not max. Brute Force is near-useless. ! point max! Pact of Mogdrogen - also 1 point max! Vulnerability - not useful for physical = 1 point max!
Max out Wendigo totem, Feral Hunger and Upheaval, CoF, BoD and AoG.
Now about devotions…
Falcon is MUST-HAVE. Even after all nerfs!
Get Manticore and Assassin’s Blade. Resistance reduction is a blast in GD.
Get Huntress - Rend is quite powerful bleed debuff.
Your weapon is shit, too.
Go and check secret vendor, for Troll Bonesmasher/crusher, with 2 good affixes (yours has useless +200% fire damage, should be physical damage or attack speed)
Tweaked abit with devotion and skills, and damage looks really nice now. Except piercing resistance…
But I do have a problem - there are 5 active devotion skills and not too many skills to assign them to. Any ideas ? Falcon swoop, rend, maul, acid spray, assasins mark.
I’ve got Maul under savagery, Assasin’s Mark under upheaval, Falcon swoop on feral hunger. What with the other 2 ?
The problem is not that you go for defensive devotions, the problem is that devotions you go for are way too weak for you. You should pick only the most powerful devotions, that’s all. They may be offensive or defensive - it matters little, and lack of defence may be fixed with gear, as well as lack of offense.
I’ve some to a following setup:
Falcon Swoop - CoF (procs very often, and even when you’re not attacking - and helps to clear packs very well).
Assassin’s Mark - Upheaval (Upheaval is always crit, so it walys procs AM).
Manticore - Savagery (proccing resist reduction often is good).
Rend - Wendigo Totem (not the best proccer due to relatively small AoE, but if placed proper, will help a lot to clear packs, or to reduce boss’ OA).
Raise Dead - ignore it, i got it for affinity only.
Giant’s Blood - any permanent buff (Primal Bond, Mogdrogen Pact, etc).
If you use axe, you may get Berserker instead of Behemoth.
Alternatively, you may try to put Rend on CoF - it is good against huge packs of weaker mobs, just put CoF on them and watch them bleed to death.
you may get +1 Chaos and Primordial crossroads, or get Raise Dead and spent last 1 point for whatever you like.
Focus on physical damage and OA. Bleed damage will mostly come naturally, though not forget about it too. But first, max out ALL your resistances - it is a huge defensive boon! HP is also very useful.
lightning damage is mostly useless for you, cause your main damage type is physical, followed by bleed. In GD, any good build usually focuses on 1-2 damage types.
Finally, you got a worthy weapon. I used the one with similar rolls for a long time - it’s quite common and effective. You may search for better mods (generally, rare prefix), but that will take a lot of time “checking vendor”. You may also farm BoC (area behind the seal - needs keys) for MI axes, with good rolls they may be kinda good too. But it’s pretty hard to get good rolls on them.
Does anyone know what the relative max devotion level values look like in this patch for Falcon Swoop and Maul?
I am wondering if it might be worth dropping the former for the latter. Or hell, maybe even get Bull Rush instead and get a lot more freedom with the points.
Falcon deals 30% weapon damage now. It’s a harsh nerf to physical damage (even despite it adds some flat physical now), but its bleed damage is still strong, and worth using.
CoF is the BEST proccer, so you should put your BEST procs on it (and better 0 ones with large AoE). It’s pretty pointless to put Manticore on CoF, cause proc has low AoE and CD, and will proc not where you want it to. Falcon Swoop has large AoE, and Rend has no CD, that’s why they are more eligible for CoF.
Against bosses, Falcon doesnt add lots of damage anyway, Especially now. Its true purpose is to help with packs.
