Corrupt Save After Copying from Main to User

Another question from a newbie! I am really loving this game by the way!

I coped a character from the main game to a custom game* and now the skill point allocations and skill assignments to hotkeys do not save. Everything else saves though.

Is there a way to fix this without losing progress?

  • I copied the _CharacterName folder from “C:\Users\user\Documents\My Games\Grim Dawn\save\main” to C:\Users\user\Documents\My Games\Grim Dawn\save\user"

I was able to fix my save using GD Stash and checking the “In Mod” option under Character Data on the Char Editor tab.

I know you found a fix via Grim Dawn Stash.
Just curious, are you using Grimarillion?
If so, what’s your take on it?

I have not tried it. I’m using just a few self-made mods.

Gotcha. Nice. Well, if you ever make any new classes, many gamers would love to play them. One modder had 2 classes added to Grimarillion. I haven’t tried them yet, but I have a few ideas for builds. Thanks to the modding community, this game will never get old. A third xpack is looming on the horizon too. I can’t wait to go full on Berserker!
