So after a long break from the game, my girlfriend and I are very excited to delve into the new expansion coming up.
I went onto Grim Dawn Build Calculator and came up with 2 different builds with but since I lack experience with the game I turn to you for some advice.
I’m very excited about the new whirlwind skill (aka Eye of Reckoning) crate is bringing to the table and definitely want to try it.
Both builds rely on pulling in the enemies with Judgment and then obviously melting face with whirlwind and debuffing enemies with additional skills/passives.
Q#1) I have is will I be able to bind whirlwind with devotion skills?
Q#2) Will whirlwind be classified as a Default weapon skill?
So build #1 is Fire orientated. https://www.grimtools.com/calc/8NKyLyWV
Pull the enemy in, flashbang, Vire’s might (the rush skill) across the pack and whirlwind away. Use the pet for the debuff.
Build #2 is Lightning orientated. https://www.grimtools.com/calc/Q2z7yA4V
2 handed build. Pull the enemy in, primal strike and have wind devils on the flanks doing all sorts of electric boogaloo.
Am I missing something? What could I do to improve?
All constructive criticism is welcome!
You defenitely want to pump that Demolitionst mastery up and get thermite mines
The “pull in” will not work against bosses that have knockback imunity, and trash mobs dies pretty fast anyway so I really dont see a point in using that mechanic at all.
Big Mistake not using Presecense of virtue for OA and other good stuff.
Smite does not activate from Eye of Reckoning (is not a default attack replacer)
And binding devotion procs to skills that activate from default attacks are not a good idea.
I see a lot of players focus on 1 to 2 main skills, would this be too many active skills or still fine?
The idea is to be a bit tanky with decent physical damage.
I also added a bunch of devotions in for some proc action.
