Crucible and Monster-Specific Loot

I’m new to Grim Dawn, and my first character is a conjurer (I usually start out with these types in ARPGs to make my first playthrough relatively painless). I picked up Karvor’s Conjuring Bone and eventually read that it is a specific drop from a specific mob.

I’ve run the crucible a few times and found that it is substantially better loot than anything I could find via regular campaign gameplay (that might change once I get to higher difficulties and bounties, but for not it’s the cat’s pajamas).

My question, which didn’t require all of that introduction and lengthy explanation, is: Do the chests at the end of the crucible have any chance of dropping monster-specific items (monster infrequents, I think, or uniques?), or do I have to farm the campaign location for that item?

Yep, the chests at the end drop monster infrequents based on which monsters spawned during your rounds.

I’m pretty Karvor’s Conjuring Bone can be looted from a dead body in Soden Hollow. I think it’s near that electric hero from the Something for Nothing quest.

Wait, does that mean Hevill’s Greatsword, Olman’s Axe and the other items looted from corpses drops in Crucible?

There are some Rare items that drop from corpses early on and I doubt they can drop in the Crucible.

Ahh, thanks for the clarification; I thought it was a monster infrequent.

Good to know, although it still wouldn’t be a viable specific strategy since the spawns are so erratic. Thanks for the info.

It’s even more random :

For example, in my last run I got a gollus ring without fighting Gollus and my mate got a Mad Queen Claw without fighting Mad Queen

So if you are looking for a specific item, you have to pray the RNG God before launching the Crucible
