I’d never even tried the buffs before a few weeks ago… looks like i missed out for over a year; i always assumed they would be fine but probably not quite worth the tributes.
holy CRAP was i wrong. I cannot believe how insanely huge they are. suddenly toons who were nothing like gladiator viable are crushing it. Now i’m the last one to call for nerfs- i’m one of those players who gets sick of the top 0.00001% screaming that the game is too easy, but these buffs do seem to trivialize it a bit.
Now- instead of just leaving it there i do realize more crucible is coming, and maybe getting through wave 170 will be an order of magnitude more difficult, and perhaps the buffs will be sorely needed. I guess we should wait and see. i was just a bit shell-shocked seeing how crazy powerful they are.
made me feel better about my toons tho, seeing as most of my gladiator clears were before i tried em.
In current state of the game yes, buffs and banners do trivialize it.
I hope that upcoming expansion and new waves will bring some, so much needed, increased difficulty to crucible cuz doing it with buffs and banners now is not even a slight challenge.
Or to put it even simpler buffs and banners are for pussies
There’s nothing wrong with banners and the buffs:
As 1st off you aren’t forced to use them
and secondly not everyone plays the overtly high defensive builds with retards amount of regen and adcth.
Nor do they load their characters with circuit breakers. And they don’t put a shield on every build they play and stack 3k DA
Then lastly there are many people who just flat out find the game harder then you might. Or people who aren’t actually as good at the game as you might be. But yeah JOV call them pussies because you are so fucking awesome :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
Jez, sry if I hurt you feelings, it was more a joke than anything else, the pussy thing part that is, other part that in current state cruci is to easy with buffs and banners is sad truth, like it or not. Again Im sorry if I offended you or anyone else in any way, it wasn’t my intention.
Then don’t use the banners, simple as. Some of us like having builds that don’t involve literally every possible defense you can stack and then whining that the game is boring for never killing you.
In most cases I dont use them, also Im not whining nor saying that game is boring and to be quite frank Im not using every possible defenses also, just trying to optimize my builds to, for me personally, satisfying criteria. Also I just stated my opinion about question in title of thread dont be buthurt about it.
the last couple times i just got all 4. 48 tributes but one round of buffs can take you from 130-150, they last a long time. then you’re back to 100 tributes.
i don’t know the exact details but with procs i’ve seen my sheet dps goes well over 200k, hp on tanky characters near 30k
Crucible + buffs is trivial in the sense that any sensible build with endgame gear may be able to clear it with decent success rate.
Imagine being a new player, building your first char, struggling to beat MC and being told that “Crucible is easy m8, just buy the buffs lmao”. You guys have been playing this game for so long your perspective is pretty much skewed :rolleyes:
I needed buffs to beat challenger on my witch hunter. I don’t feel bad about it but I am also not the best player. When the top 1 or 2% of players say something is too easy it doesn’t help the conversation. If Crate tailor the game to the 1 or 2% the impact on those of us who aren’t great at the game and don’t have indepth understanding of bloody confusing mechanics that makes it exponentially more difficult for the other 98%. I haven’t even tried gladiator. I know I’d get my clock cleaned and it would take more than an hour to clear. Also with the way the mutators stack up sometimes my build probably couldn’t even handle it.
If I gave a new player a gladiator accomplished build and told them to try it they’d get slaughtered because they don’t have the understanding of mechanics. Then there are those of us who have neurological issues that impact our skill level at the game. Do crucible buffs trivialise the crucible? Sure, for people who all they really do is farm it and learn about it. Does it trivialise it for the rest of us? No. I’d like to see the statistics on how many people have actually cleared all waves of gladiator both with and without extra spawns. I’m going to guess that fewer people have finished gladiator than have finished ultimate difficulty campaign.
