Is there a quick-n-dirty set of guidelines someone can give me about how deep I can risk trying to go based on my level, or some other measurable thing?
Crucible scales to your level, so that doesn’t matter a ton.
On all difficulties, waves 130 to 150 are substanially harder than the previous ones. Waves 130 to 150 can be harder than 1-80 on the next difficulty up even.
I would say for HC that if waves 1 to 130 should be so easy they are boring. If they are getting hard at all it would be really risky to keep going
So far in crucible, i have only died to the hardest nemisis bosses which on the first 2 difficulties are in waves 130 to 150 or so
I’d be really careful, especially on HC.
My toon just got completely and utterly destroyed on Challenger at wave90+,
i thought i’d try it because i was stomping the easiest crucible.
Guess it’s back to farming it on easy.
For HC, you probably want to make sure you know which types or affixes/monsters/bosses are dangerous to you.
Then, know which waves they spawn on - or recognize when they do for randomized spawns. For instance, knowing which waves Anasteria spawns for being extra careful around those.
Finally, pay very close attention to mutators.
I sometimes play crucible with my sorcerer or saboteur and sometimes I just get wrecked for what seemed to be no reason - usually ended up having really bad mutators and not apying enough attention to which wave I was in - so that I get debuff without noticing for instance.
