Did anyone say it was meant for farming purposes? I thought the idea was to test yourself/your builds in a different mode from the main game. See how long you can survive - Survival mode.
This is so true, at first i was like, omg the rewards are not that good and then i realize that i was having a blast just getting that adrenaline rush of not dying and progressing and etc, so i thought meh… the real reward is the adrenaline rush that you get out of it and ofc is a nice little touch of extra happiness to always open chests.
All you guys just said is: its not ment to be worth it.

Either give us options to increase the rewards and increase them overall in addition or just dont even bother releasing something thats not worth to be played. I dont get this. You cant even use it for leveling new characters, pure waste of time and surely a waste of money. Im sad.
Sounds like you don’t even know what a "survival mode " is about… be glad that it even rewards you in the process, because Survival Modes aren’t meant to reward you.
It’s your own fault for buying something and expecting it to give you something that wasn’t even promissed to begin with.
Guys, there is nothing wrong with complaining about the rewards - the crucible is supposed to be rewarding as that’s part of why it is made to be challenging.

What difficulty are you playing on? If you’re farming Aspirant then you are basically farming the equivalent of Normal difficulty, so it’s fairly unreasonable to expect it to rain legendaries. Gladiator would be a much different story, but my experience with Gladiator generally results in quite a few legendary and high quality MI items.
Im on Galdiator 100+, 2 legys at most after like 20+ minutes when i get to 150 is not acceptable IMO.
(Playing a retaliation build, pretty fast clearspeed.)
2 legendaries for completing wave 150 on gladiator is definitely odd. I was averaging around 5-7 legendaries for the same difficulty during testing, so I’m surprised it’s that low. 2 legendaries is roughly what I was seeing for cashing out at wave 100.
I don’t like it. I think its insanely unfair its throwing in nemesis mobs as frequently as it does. And the few times I’ve seen nemesis mobs, they’re in with a swarm of hero mobs or boss mods. That’s just limiting the amount of builds that are viable to run the thing. I made it to gladiator 80 or 90, and have no interest in ever doing this again. I got swarmed by anasteria + a ton of hero mobs. Wasn’t much I could do. I don’t really see any point in doing this anymore. None of the builds I’m running can beat combos like that. I’ll just forget this mode exists.
I think typically the point of the ultimate levels of survival modes is that they are supposed to kick your ass requiring a top notch char and play…imo it would be no bueno if anyone could waltz in and do it.
Also I haven’t done gladiator yet, but some of the buffs are so powerful. If you got tribute to spend I can’t imagine it is that insane
You can get MI’s, that is a very good reward. Getting nemesis shoulders and stuff without needing to hunt them down is great since most of them are really annoying to find.
So today I completed challenger difficulty and the reward was the same quality as aspirant. Only one legendary, no blueprints (although that was the be expected with the number I already have) and a whole mountain of rares with perhaps one or two with good affixes. Reward wise I see no reason at all to go up a difficulty so far.
Edit: ironically RNG gave me more useful loot on aspirant than on challenger. I get that your have a giant temple to the random number god but that’s taking the piss.
Will your rewards vary based on your Score? I though I saw in a different post at least one chest is based on that, right?
I finished aspirant last night starting at wave 1. I got 3 legs and 1 relic BP along with 6 or so epics… 2 legs and the BP were in the top chest… I’ve failed in the past and that chest isn’t there.
Are the people getting lesser rewards, dying and continuing for a certain point (like wave 130), thus resetting their score? Should be a little more rewarding if you can do all 150 without dying, but still should be decent if you don’t (which especially on later difficulties will be a challenge for most).
The 6 bottom chests (the top one was not there) when I died at 150 seemed to have about the same loot as when I pasted lv 150. Each chest had 1 and rarely 2 epics in each. When I lived, one of the six also had a legendary item…
The rush of making it through was pretty fun! I think the reward could be a little higher, but I can see keeping the campaign better. Would seem like just a money grab if they made the crucible better than the campaign…
It does defiantly limit the builds… Casters can be viable in the main game, but doesn’t see that happening (at least in solo mode) in the crucible… My AAR sorcerer actually handled Fabius (on “normal”) ok there, but Iron Maiden beat him down fast…Especially with Moose running around at the same time…yeah wave 150! Definitely don’t see many caster surviving long at higher difficulties… My warder had very little issue. Go Melee builds!

Survival mode should reward you for surviving. yet ironically the characters who are the MOST likely to see the end of Gladiator crucible are guaranteed to get zero reward from it.
and that top notch character doesn’t need any of the loot he’s gonna get. that’s the problem. i stand my idea that +devotion cap or +stats should be the reward for gladiator at the very least.

by that you mean level 85 chars with best gear already… that is a general problem, they would also be good at farming yet gain nothing from it

Nah, that just means everyone without the DLC loses out in comparison. I do not like the idea of having anything exclusive in it at all.
That is was my point of if it was more rewarding it would be viewed as a money grab! Want the best loot? Drop another $X for the DLC so you can farm faster!
Again, not saying it shouldn’t be more rewarding then it now…but it shouldn’t be MORE rewarding then the campaign…
Exclusive bonus (stats, best loot) should definitely not happen in something that is an optional BUY as a DLC…expansion, yes…but not a DLC…
I have gotten a better reward (a few times actually) by playing aspirant and restarting at 130 than I have for 1 - 150 in challenger. The first takes 10 minutes, the second more than an hour.
