Death March - Disable Auto-Harvest [Option Request]

My hunter just happened to be outside the range of the raider camp, but the deer they downed with a bow was not. So they of course tried to harvest the deer only to be pummeled by raider arrows. RIP. Next contestant. Tries to harvest the deer. Pummeled by raider arrows. Rinse and repeat to the tune of at least six villagers.

It seems like a small thing, but it’s quite a bit to micromanage your villagers away from the deer carcass until it despawns. An option to toggle auto-harvesting on a specific resource would be very welcome in this scenario. Or, better yet, an option to disable harvesting from the entire deer resource at that particular area since it’s close to a raider camp.

I guess this should be fixed soon, as were other issues of villagers behavior putting them at risk unwothingly (bears, raiders camps, wolf dens, dead fellows to burry…)

Bring Back The Dead seems to be the worst, in my experience. Once wolves, boars, bears or raider camps have killed a single villager, other villagers will inevitably troop out to the same spot one by one to bring back the body and add their bodies to the total. The only way to stop the carnage is by micro-managing every villager that heads in that direction or a major Armed Response by soldiers to wipe out the various critters and raiders doing the damage.

Yet another example of the basically Suicidal Nature of our collective villagers . . .

I think it is rather touching that they risk life and limb to give their little pixel friends a proper burial. Just another challenge of life on the Frontier perhaps. Just look at how satisfying it is when you finally mount a n attack and destroy those Raider Camps/beasties and finally retrieve the fallen.

I had finally had enough of the camp above in the image and led an attack. Many were lost but the village reigned supreme. And then the march began to retrieve all of the bodies. Harrowing.

I getting kinda the same… but in other way :stuck_out_tongue:

I was building some roads to reach near a deer area… the deer got scared to miles away, so my hunter now had to travel way longer/ further to reach the dear tho the deer sign is still near the hut. I do see some of the deer trying to come back tho but because there is a road, they keep getting feared away

Not a big issue anyways, just funny to watch  and my mistake when planning the roads

Dears (and animals) are not scared by roads.
You might see them using it to get close to a hunter’s lodge… and run back away the same path when chased !
They are scared by human activity.

I had this same thing happen the other day. Which was part of the reason I made this post - QoL: Villager aggro settings

I’ve even had some cases where a fisherman, who was outside of the raider tower range, would swap from fishing to sprinting full speed toward the raider encampment to attack them.

It certainly keeps you on your toes on some maps.

yeh i ddnt meant they run away from the road lol but from the people when they walk by… srry for my bad english xD
