Are demo’s traps mortar bombs etc. considered “pets” (i.e. subject to bonuses from items etc.) in GD or are they merely mechanisms, & does Spirit affect their damage like a caster?
No, they scale with player bonuses, not pet bonuses.
TY wasn’t sure.
So spirit has no effect on demo devices they are not magical? Seem mechanical to me.
Er, no it doesn’t matter if it’s mechanical or magical… the only thing that matters is the damage type, and even then I’m not entirely sure if your attributes contribute to your player scaled pets. I don’t see why they shouldn’t, but I don’t know for sure.
It reads in game “… scales with player damage bonuses”
Cunning gives bonuses to physical damage, trauma, bleed and pierce.
Spirit gives bonuses to the rest. Check what damage the device does, that’s what attribute gives it a bonus.
In general though, it’s not efficient to use attributes to boost damage. This is because, % damage bonuses are the most common in the game and so this multiplier easily suffers from decreasing margins. Additionally the defensive bonuses are not as easy to come by and therefore a better choose to invest in. Of course this isn’t always the case, just usually.
Both Cunning and Spirit effect Mortar though usually I only increase either stat for item requirements. After acquiring end game items and meeting the attribute requirements I put the rest of my points into Physique as the increase in Health and Defensive ability is generally better then a bit more damage.
i agree that makes sense
