I have similiar feelings.
Voted for Demolitionist, just because it gives me a feel a lot more victorian.
But I think that Druthers idea of the grenadier would also be cool!
Pretty much. Demolitionist does not really help it either since it is just the description of Demolisher.
As some have mentioned, Demolitionist sounds a bit more “proper” and believable, where as Demolisher gives me more of that slang/nickname vibe. Demolitionist also makes me think “explosives expert” where Demolisher feels a little more nondescript and could fit anything that “just kills stuff real good”, whether it’s via exploding hammers or fiery brass knuckles.

Ikr, I would definitely vote for Bomberman. At least he was explosive back in his days. 
Demolitionist! I’ve always liked the way it sounds!
I chose demolitionist as it doesn’t sound cheesy like demolisher and it’s definition is far more clear when it comes to using explosive.
Another word related to destruction would be ‘razing’ or ‘raze’ which means to “flatten, knock down; wipe out” and perhaps making it into the word Hell Razer or something, but that might be a bit cheesy as well.
I’m fine with Demolitionist, if people want to change the name they can create mods to do so.
I voted for Demolisher. Both nouns are coming from demolish so i think its a matter of which one sounds right. Demolitionist sounds a little… cheesy or something.
I also voted Demolitionist. As already mentioned, unlike Demolisher, which reminds me of a brainless brute, Demolitionist seems like a better fit.
Though I also liked Grenadier very much. I don’t know all skills this class will have, but judging from the revealed ones, it doesn’t feel like it is “too specific” at all. It’s all about explosives and mines. Which is exactly what a Grenadier uses.
Still, Demolitionist is fine. Especially it’s abbreviation will probably be Demo. And this just happens to be my most favourite WoW-Class (I know shame on me for playing that game :o).
With the given the choices I cannot make up my mind. I still like sapper better. Grenadier sounds good, too.
According to my favorite online dictionary you could call the class Devastator, if the connotation is not too negative. And the mastery would be called Devastation but not Demolition anymore.

Demolisher - uses a big 2 handed hammer to pulverize things
Yea I checked the synonyms for destruction and thought that Devastator might work.
Right now I’m not 100% for any of the options but neither am I 100% against them. Between the two I’m leaning more to Demolitionist not because it sounds better, but because it fits the description.

The turret you’re describing is more like a mortar that spits out grenades and lightning mines, but apart from that, I think the answer to this poll is solved with SirJonnyBoy’s comment: Demolitionist! 
What I mean to say is, if people who have never heard of this game agree that Demolitionist fits better, than I think we can consider this case closed. 
Also, it’s good to be creative, as others have pointed out. I’ll admit, Demolitionist may not be a word (I’m not sure why it isn’t), but being creative is a must with class names. Demolisher, like you yourself said medierra, may be a word (unlike Demolitionist) - but it is generic, so it is automatically off limits. 
Edit: I’m staying over with my parents for the long Easter weekend, and even my mum agrees with Demolitionist when I asked her a similar question to SirJohnnyBoy’s above comment. Her quote is below.
“Demolisher sounds like one of those guys in a bulldozer, with a one of those big balls for knocking down buildings.”
“A wrecking ball?”, I interject.
“Yes, a wrecking ball. Demolitionist sounds like a guy dealing with explosives.”
I think we can consider this poll won, rightfully, by Demolitionist.
