Devotion setup with Spear of the Heavens and Attak Seru?

I’ve been tinkering with an Allagast mage hunter, but I can’t find a way to make a devotion setup with both spear of the heavens and attak seru. Since it’s a lightning/aether build this would be the most offensive setup I think. But I can’t figure it out and getting spear and ultos is quite easy so I’m using that for now.

Can anyone do it? I’m thinking that it’s actually impossible

Possible, but why do you want something so inneficient?

Yeah I don’t want that, although it’s impressive that it’s possible at all.

It’s annoying, I can’t get a good setup for aether/lightning without severely gimping the aether side. Or get good items in a few slots for that matter. Turned out to be a disappointing build, no wonder that there are no allagast builds in the compendium.

Edit: it’s also kind of dumb that all the elemental tier 3s are on the green/purple side and spear hides on the other side of the map. Inherent weakness in any build that tries to combine aether and lightning. Oh well, I won’t try anymore.

I wouldn’t know about “gimping”, but any Allagast build that wants to maximize TSS will end up leaning toward lightning damage; I’d say just run with it unless you had something else in mind.

As for the compendium, well, forum-posted builds always have a bias toward Crucible, and by and large Storm Box / TSS lack the sustain required to deal with the AoM nemesis waves. Although you could always try to give up some damage for the usual Mirror shenanigans, I suppose.

Good effort!

I have explored allagast set before and failed miserably. Yeah, mostly because aether + any elemental is not a good mix, unless you convert that elemental and focus on aether instead.

Also, storm box do only miniscule damage, even though it has been overcapped fully. I found the best use of storm box if bound to elemental seeker (blind sage Devo). Somehow the seeker triggered by lightning tether shows so many bulbs, like it’s independent from its cool down. I might want to try the skill again and theorycrafted based on this.

This is my experience as well. It’s sad because I like playing weird builds that combine damage types that don’t look like they would work together. In this case however they really don’t work, it’s depressing how much difference there is between it and my ordinary trozan setup. And yes my experiment hard capped storm box and tether and all it’s good for (very good mind you) is triggering the ultos proc constantly. Its own damage is disappointing.

Alagast problem is TSS and box scaling on ultimate ranks, rather that devotion setup. Look at Trosan set - 1 extra shard, 115 flat dmg to each shard, CDR reduction, AoE radius, huge meteor with DA debuff.
Compare to Alagast that offer? What 60 flat dmg? Not even a proc?
Both sets are made of toilet papper, BTW, but at least Trosan provide enough DA to deal with it. Alagast is pure glass w/o canon.
BTW I would use https://www.grimtools.com/calc/62a5Q8X2 this devotion setup.

Alagast now a share a same problem that was in earlier darkblase and avenger set.
Is anybody a remember how crappy was these sets before they are was completely redesigned?

Actually, we are in ru community of Grim Dawn are discussed about this set, and here is my opinion, if anybody care

I tried so many times make some worthwhile build with this set - nah, anyway, other sets on his head are higher
Need fallen stars? Trozan’s fullset with his comet for a fullset and with a plus number of falling stars laugh at Alagast
Need devastation? Albrecht or even the Diviner can handle it many times better.
As a result, Alagast tries to sit on two chairs at once, that he doesn’t work at all
P.S. Another plus in the piggy bank of the Alagasat jambs is that it is meant by the rune of Alagasat and lightning tether, but the problem is that it is very sull of damage compared to the above, and even more so compared to the rune of Hagarrad (hello, a million damage per cast)
According to the results, this set must be completely redone (preferably for aether uses only)

so i want to build an aether ray main with skelington blight necromancer attak seru and widow and imp are the 3 i think ill be needing would any of you be so kind and help me out ? want my first playthrough to be fun but the devotions are just to confusing for me at this point. i know these topics are old but its still the closest place alraedy to my thinking i believe. thank you in advance as i know it must be stupid questions
