I have noticed that the behaviour is different and not entirely consistant on moving things in the trading post. Moving money out of the trading post is instant, but moving money back into the trading post takes some time. Moving goods ( I have not checked if it varies between products), clay when I noticed the beaviour, takes some time to the trading post, but is instant if you change you mind and want to send half of it back. What determins if something takes time? Why is some transactions instant and some time consuming?
Not sure why Gold is so different, but I noticed a big change in speed when I started putting storage facilities right next to the Trading Post: when I basically could cut travel time down to the absolute minimum (like, right across the street) suddenly stuff was getting into the Trading Post and out of it in no time.

I think it’s the way that the transfer out of the trading post works; it is instant rather than your traders running around physically moving stuff like they do when they stock the trading post. No idea why it works that way though.
