So ive been playing the free version single player mode for a while.
Now I’m considering to buy the steam version, but will my game saves and shared chest be available on Steam version?
What free version ? There is no free version I am aware of…
Your save files should transfer over though
I suspect they mean a pirated version… still it shows how good GD is is people that have been pirating are prepared to pay for it 
Yea thats what it is, never thought this game would so good plus the developers seem fair too so i dont mind buying it.
Still, does the steam version keep saves stored in Documents?
Yep Crate are an amazing team and as long as you disable cloud saving in both GD’s settings and steam to be safe then your saves are in the usual local documents >my games>…etc…etc.
It’s a pleasure to find another person that even though they can continue to play for free enjoys the game that much and is happy to support the devs… Well done indeed 
The saves can be used by both the Steam and GOG version. I assume the ‘free’ version technically is the GOG version, so yes, they transfer over.
Actually the “free” version is both versions (steam’s faster updates)
Edit… spoke to Crate about this years ago and they don’t have time etc to waste on whack a mole trying to stop this

I’m gonna admit that i pirated the game because i always do it to test if the game is good or not.
And yes, saves from the pirated version work on the bought version.
Some FREE version may have their own save location, you may search the file such as “transfer.gst” to locate it
There is no free version of the game.
What’s being discussed is about a pirated version of the game. At least be honest that.
