Does anyone know the exact mechanics for OA past the last crit threshhold?

I was wondering if anyone had insight into the exact way offensive ability works when you pass the last crit threshold?

At 135 i assume for the next 2-5 PHT points it will add chance to do a 1.5x base crit. Does anyone know for how many points exactly? the 1.4x chance is 5 points, where the 1.3x is 10 points, and if we follow the pattern it should be less.

Then lets assume its for 2 more points(3 total), at 137 PHT i am unsure as to what happens. I was thinking that at this point it would start to remove the base 89 points that adds to your chance to not crit, meaning essentially if we had 137+89=226 PHT we would have a crit chance of 100%?

I literally have no idea what you’re going on about :frowning:

135 what?
PHT points?
crit threshhold?

@Fizzlesprig - you find the fine print at http://www.grimdawn.com/guide/gameplay/combat.php#q19

@Khaop - I don’t know either

I’m pretty sure he’s referencing that exact information but simply transposed the acronym a bit.

PHT should be PTH, but he’s referring to the ratio of OA to enemy DA giving crit thresholds of 1x-1.5x, no miss, crit more, etc.

I don’t know if even our best theorycrafters know that info, but I do know there’s a pretty reliable spreadsheet somewhere with good calculations. Good luck in your search!

The non-crits up through PTH 89 are never removed. Additional PTH simply adds more crits at the highest multiplier (1.5x).

This is also why you can’t reach 100% crit chance, and thus OA has diminishing returns at higher values.

So, if you somehow manage to achieve a PTH of 178 (against enemies in your level range), then you have a 50% chance to crit with rolls between 135 and 178 (23.4%) having the highest multiplier.
