Does armor piercing ignore ALL armor?

Question in topic. This is how I understand it I suppose.

So if you are doing 100% piercing damage, then a debuff to armor would have zero effect?

armour only affects physical damage, so yes

I remember being a little confused at first too. Piercing is just another type of damage like physical, fire or chaos. Armour only protects against physical.
