Currently I’m making a build that has the entire wps pool filled so I was wondering if linking acid spray to the auto attack even does anything.
Afaik, it has a chance to trigger on each attack regardless if a wps should activate.

Acid spray is not a WPS. It will fire off any attack, including WPS’s. You can even bind it to a WPS. I guess I just realized the real question, but when a WPS fires, it is equivalent to a default attack and a WPS proc.
That said, you can always add more WPS’s, even if you are at 100% chance. Once you pass 100% chance to use a WPS, the percentage of all your WPS’s decreases by a percent that makes it match 100%.
Their chance for each to proc becomes (100/(total of all WPS chances)) * (individual WPS chance)
