Don't know about stats

I am level 30, and I am copying a build http://www.grimtools.com/calc/JVljebNO, however what I don’t understand is where are the stats?

I am here looking for gear with cunning and offensive ability and %cold damage, % Damage etc. because I thought they were the main stats for dps on the type of character I want to play, but if you look at this guys equipment and everyone elses, there are no primary stats.

I just turned the game off in frustration because when I thought I had a handle on it, I see this and I think well obviously this whole time I have been playing it wrong. So I am now level 33, with all the wrong stats.

I just don’t get this game, the stats seem way more complicated than they do in D3, PoE or even D2. I really need some help:(

I need to know what stats I should be aiming for because it’s evidently not Physique, Cunning or spirit. It doesn’t even seem to be offensive or defensive ability either because I mostly see physical damage, internal trauma damage (like wtf?) and bleeding damage. These stats don’t mean anything to me and now when I hunt for gear and something shiny drops I have no clue if I should be excited or not.

Perhaps the thread will explain what you are asking as i was confused myself when i first encountered grimtools? Unless your browser is not supported. I know that i can’t check out stuff using my ipad.

I normally mouse over the items to check out the stats for a build & click S or D for Skills or Devotion pop-ups.

Its easy to mess up your stats because it isn’t a situation like “I am a caster so I need a lot more spirit”, “Melee so I need more physique”

Their main function aside from armor requirements is increasing your offensive(cunning) and defensive(physiqe) ability. Offense increases chance to hit/crit and defense chance to be hit/be crit. Its not something you can see on the calculators, you have to play the game.

and of course Physique and Cunning are listed in the opposite order from Offensive and Defensive Ability further drawing your eye away from any intuitive understanding of their relationship.

Consensus is dump most of it in Physique and only enough in cunning and spirit to meet any item requirements. Its not just a good idea its almost required as you can pretty much never keep up with the rate that stronger enemies get higher and higher chances to crit. And it seems that if any boss or strong enemy has a chance to crit you will die quickly.

So the attribute stats become pretty useless. They should be called Additional Physique Points because if you do much else with them you will be in a world of hurt later. You can drop a few in cunning to keep the crit chance up, and spirit gives a good boost to magic damage but the constant need to mitigate the enemies crit chance reduces those effects to a nice gesture but not something really worth doing.

Then again some class combinations cant mitigate it even by dumping in physique so it might be better to take a ‘don’t get hit approach’ and load up the offense and/or spirit’. i dunno, i just know its too easy to find situations where you can be 1 or 2 shotted if you don’t have high physque. But the game is absolutely NOT biased and balanced toward melee builds.

One of the most unbalanced points of the game IMO.

What stats are you talking about? The build is pure physical which uses beronath to convert all elemental damage (Executon, Amarasta’s Blade Burst with Lethal Assault and Leviathan proc) to physical one.
So if you don’t have Beronath recipe unlocked, there is no point following this build.

That build in particular is a Physical Damage build, of which it possesses a 1200% Physical Damage modifier from its gear/skills. Via Beronath, Reforged’s skill, the build can convert any flat Elemental Damage (Fire, Cold, or Lightning, or just “Elemental”) into Physical at full efficiency. So the the Empowered Essence of Beronath is actually being used as a Physical-damage booster, as its 20 Elemental Damage becomes 20 Physical Damage. The % Elemental bonus is wasted, however.
