Doombolt build?

After playing a few characters, I have 2 empowered voidblades and a legendary belt that gives +4 doombolt and 20% chance to trigger when hit). The 2 empowered voidblades have +3 doombolt (total is +10 with dual wield), and each em voidblade has 25% to trigger doombolt when hit.

It seems like I will be ‘generating’ a lot of doombolts if I could tank a bit of damage.

Will this build work?

I have thought about this too but haven’t tried it yet. There is also a ring that has a doombolt proc and some gloves too, so you can have 6 doombolts going off with them all equipped including the skill.

It would be hard getting enough survivability though since that would take up a lot of your gear, and then you would need good chaos and vit dmg with ways of reducing the enemies res to them both. Maybe swapping one of the voidblades for a fang of chthon might be a good idea.

Long ago used them in vit conjurer in elite, by ultimate sigil procs became way better overall

Honestly, I won’t rely on “on Hit” procs.

I’m interested in Doom Bolt though, since it’s cooldown is down to 6.5 seconds. Last time I tried it it was still 10. 6.5 is still above the 5 seconds cooldown of doombolt procs which is weird :undecided:

Not really, procs are their own thing. It may have the same name, and the same graphics, but it is absolutely not the same skill. It doesn’t use your skill level of Doom Bolt, and in the case of other skills (like say Sigil of Consumption) the modifiers don’t apply either. This generally means damage procs have a finite level of usefulness, as they only increase in power with your stats.

So if I maxed out the skill, with +10 from these equipment, the DB from the procs will not be at level 22?

Proc spells have their own level and are fixed

For example, Doom bolt is level 6 on void blade and 16 on its empowered version

AFAIK, no, it won’t. Items just cast a DB of certain fixed level, usually pretty high one. But +skills has no effect. Too bad, would had been an interesting design.

I know this, alright. I meant that 6.5 sec CD on occultist DB is too much because DB procs have 5 sec CD. Usually it’s the other way around.
