Against all odds and comparisons with Cabalist, decided to make a Conjurer nevertheless. If the class sux later on, I’ll just quit the game and move on. I have a few doubts though, hope someone can help me:
I - Is there a cap for pet attack speed, like players have? 200%? This is important because if the cap is indeed 200% most of Mogdrogen’s devotion would be wasted, meaning it’s better for me to not use it.
II - Stuff like Fiend, it’s fire damage is boosted by my bonuses or the pet bonuses? And the weapon damage used is mine?
III - I read somewhere that Wind devil, Storm Totem and Wendigo Totem can’t proc item skills because they are considered pet. Is it really true? If so, makes not a lot of sense since they are not boosted by pet stats, meaning they should not be considered pets.
IV - Abilities like Ground Slam get used more frequently if boosted? Spent one point to see how it worked and took me a while to even see Bria using it. I guess that’s why most people don’t even consider it worthy to spend a single point.
V - The damage bonus my pets receive from Mogdrogen’s Pact is boosted by my physical damage bonuses, right?
If you put fiend on your pet it goes off of their bonus damage and weapon damage.
I am not sure.
I don’t think frequency goes up. Ground slam isn’t that useful to my mind. The Familiar’s lightning skill is worth a point to me as the stun is nice against charging enemies. The Hellhound’s attack skill is eh too. All three Conjurer pets have good auras though.
No, the physical damage from Mogdrogen’s is increased by their physical damage bonus and by your % pet damage stat. Flat damage bonuses from auras are very strong for pets.
This is my Conjurer and it is very effective in the campaign. https://www.grimtools.com/calc/RZRnL4rZ I have not tested it in Crucible. Conjurers benefit from much tankier pets than Cabalists which is nice, and you can still do a lot of damage.
I believe something pet related was talked about for patch 1.0.6 making their abilities better. Either way, wait it out and see what the patch brings for pets.
Questions II, IV, and V are already answered by Beoron.
I) There is no cap on pet attack speed, as far as I know.
III) The only thing I’ve heard regarding this is that pets can’t proc devotion skills that summon other pets. I’m pretty sure if you’re talking about item procs like Toxic Gas Cloud or something, then I think that the player has to activate with an actual attack like Grasping Vines.
