Gonna multiplay with the wife whos addicted to GD, soon. We normally play DPS + Tank combo toghether on other hack + slash games but yet to do it on GD.
So who a 2H ranged pyromencer for DPS + sword and board warder for Tank likely be the best builds to fill those roles?
Retaliation build is best for tank. Literally immortal, soldier+shaman masteries, And for dps I would suggest to have a look at poison dreegs evil eye build. As getting armour of the guardian and dreegs blood will improve your tank survivability too
Well, if you insist on roleplaying a tank then you would need a soldier. Because only soldier has aggro skills. Warder is an obvious choice, +%hp and Grasping Vines for control. But I were to play a warder in this setup I would had clarified beforehand if DPS Pyro going to double as a healer as well, or not (meaning, heavy investment into Blood of Dreeg). If not, Blademaster would be an interesting choice as well.
My 0.02$.
P.S. Where the hell do you find wives that are addicted to GD?
More generally, I think you want to have one Occultist with max Blood of Dreeg and one Soldier with max Field Command. You could play a witchblade for the tanky character and do both of those on the same character. (Witchblade has better damage than the Warder, but lower survivability.)
You may also find the shield character to be too slow and too low damage. (Single target damage is a real problem unless you are uber-geared.) You may want to go with a 2H Warder instead. Wendigo makes you tanky enough, I think.
Both going melee to benefit from Wendigo is also an option, I think.
Haven’t played any MP in the current patch so this is somewhat theoretical.
In the US it’s not that hard if you live in almost any major city. Go to board game groups. Make some effort (doesn’t require much) to be less unattractive than most of the geeky guys who will show up. (Look like you had some exercise in the last 6 months. Wear a clean t-shirt.)
Found the build link for that retaliation warden. I really recommend it as tank option as I tried it myself. Having partner dps to clean casters/ranged would be sick
