dropping item that should have been blueprint

i just dropped a really great pants itself, it should have been a blueprint right ? have something changed about item drops that should have been crafted ?

AFAIK all epic / legandary gear, which can be crafted, has also a rare chance to drop. Only exception are legendary helms, which can only be crafted - expect for the few legendary boss helms.

There is a rare chance for the item itself to drop.
