What is teh best class to do this. I am interested in building a character that can do this and do not know which class is best built to make ti work.
Demolisionist Firestrike builds are the best for dual pistols. For the 2nd class, Arcanist and Shaman seem to make the most sense.
Pretty sure you can’t even get dual pistols until level 25 right? So you also have to make it there, not that it’s that hard.
The Gunslinger’s Jacket allows for Dual Wielding pistols at LVL 20.

weapon and proc attack dual pistol builds are also very good. all depends on how you build 
You make it sound like you just skip the part where you level up for the proc’s and that you can’t have proc’s on firestrike. If he doesn’t have a clue how to build a dual pistol build, he doesn’t likely have the gear to do some proc build anyway.
Occultist is probably one of the most popular secondary classes for a duel wield pistol build. Buffs to chaos damage (gained from brimstone and several late game pistols) along with lots of attack speed make it a good choice. Not to mention a strong debuff and a heal.

Pyromancer (Demolisher+Occultist) is the best and most versatile for that. Though, any class with Demolisher can effectively dual-wield guns, cause Demolisher is pretty self-sufficient.
