Dual Wield Ideea

The ideea came from wanting to wear full myth Warborn set + myth Havoc gun.

My thoughts are that the weapon in the right hand, aka on the left in inv, would be the one chosen as primary for attacks.

Would open up a lot of doors for new builds imo. what do you think ?

Not gonna happen. :stuck_out_tongue:

Won’t work with current animation sets, nevermind the technical considerations.

didn’t think of the animation part tbh…but every time i change my shield+gun to gun+gun there is a short time that the char keeps the gun as a shield until it regains it’s correct animation…should have come to mind…

What about holding a 2h weapon as a 1h ? ranged or melee. animation wouldnt be a problem there…

The point being? To be able to dual wield two handed weapons? Seen a post that says is impossible and it would be broken if it wasn’t.

since this is not happening, I am just going to be playing Kingdom Rush and pretend it’s GD

RIP imagination!

Every ideea should be shared no matter how ridiculous is…you never know what gets implemented in the future.

I enjoyed a lot barb d2lod with 2 2h weps…was awsome…would be godlike to have 2 worldeaters

If it’s extremely ridiculous, like this one, then it shouldn’t be implemented. Things need to be suggested by having a solid reason to be in the game.

This suggestion would kill the identity of dual wield two one handed weapons and it would be broken as hell.

Two handed weapons in one hand, while thematically cool, is just silly to balance.

Let 2h-ers be what they are…2h-ers…

I wasnt actually refering to this one…i dont think its ridiculous…i was talking in general…but it would actually be fun imo…d2 had the 2 2h wep option on barb…the pre-alpha Wolcen now also has that, and u can also use 1 melee and 1 ranged weapon at same time and primary is chosen by range.

You can now use shield + gun in GD which is very nice…although u cant find a very good build with that combo…

If im not mistaken Lost Ark also has the option.

It is ridiculous. If you are going to be able dual wield two handed weapons, might as well call them one handed weapons then. And another reason for me not to play Diablo 2, dual wield two handed weapons sounds so stupid and nonsensical.

Purifier with Aegis set is one of the best builds currently. There are probably other good gun and shield builds that i’m not remembering.

Dual Wielding 2h weapons was made famous thanks to Diablo II. It’s not the most well balanced game to say the least. I don’t think it can be implemented into GD w/o crapping on the balance.

I wanted to see Zero CD SS at some point and even that’s broken to a certain extent. So anything that’s hard to balance is most likely never going to be implemented

Shield + Gun using Aegis Set is strong enough to easily farm Gladiator 170. The problem is Aegis Set is the best Shield + Gun build at the moment with no equal. That area could use some build diversity.

@Norzan " And another reason for me not to play Diablo 2, dual wield two handed weapons sounds so stupid and nonsensical."

Dude it’s pretty cool, I seriously suggest you to at least consider trying Ram’s mod at some point if not the original game.

D2 LoD is the mother of these games imo…u should play it if u didnt…but find a good graphics mod cause it will look like crap after playing todays games.

Edited : not saying D3 looks any better…

Can u give a link pls ?

I’m not touching any Diablo games, ever. Good work by making me not wanting to play neither of the first two games by constantly putting them in this pedestal like it’s the second coming of Christ. Made even worse by at least once a week someone coming to this forum suggesting crap that was in Diablo 2 to be in Grim Dawn just because they were in that game.

Screw games having their own identity, let’s just make all the same.

Well you can always try Kush if ur sad about something…

thnx a lot

Dual wielding 2h weapons would be unrealistic to the point of absurdity.

Yeah, I get it, it’s a game and a fictional universe. But I much prefer that some dose of realism be maintained. That’s why I’m a little bugged by the sizes of weapons as they already are (e.g. I think 2h weapons are really too big, maybe reducing them 10% in length would be perfect; 1h weapons are also much too long, when I look at Dermapteran Slicers in my Blademasters hands, they seem to be over a meter long each; caster weapons also seem too large and the daggers too wide specifically; ranged weapons are OK, I’d say, some pistols might seem a bit bulky, but it’s fine, whereas rifles seem to be the perfect size)

Funny thing is, I thought that about forcewave. I mean you are literally swinging a weapon so hard that it sends compressed air outward, which damages and stuns enemies up to 10m away. Anyone capable of that could probably swing two two-handers with ease.

The only saving grace is that forcewave uses cast speed. So It isn’t an act of brute force, but rather magical energy which accomplishes the feat.

Biggest problem with being able dual wielding two-handers is that due to the fairness rule, it would only be right to introduce oversized two-handers. I mean hey if you can handle two large weapons why not handle one giant one instead.
Here’s hopping for the Manliest Sword Ever!
