I’ve been rolling pretty good through everything up until AoM in Elite around Lone Watch now. I feel like I’m just getting killed so quick now, surviving is becoming a pain for me now.

Anyone able to offer advice on where I need to improve, or have made a mistake? This is my first character so I’m kind of lost on what I need to do.

your character has quite decent defense stats for elite difficulty, but i guess the offense suffered from it. you should have capped aether res for the malmouth area. that’s probably the single most important resistance in that zone.

if the char sheet is accurate, you didn’t put an augment on the belt, so that should help with capping aether resistance. you could probably also replace the fire augment on the chestpiece with aether. grim calc shows res scaled to ultimate, but if you’re still on elite all your res will be 25 points higher, so fire is still capped without that augment.

the skills and devotions look reasonable to me.

i guess the problem is that act 6 simply isn’t as easy as the other 5 acts. you need good defense to survive, but you also need good damage to get rid of all those cthonics and aetherials before their overwhelm your defenses.

not sure there’s much you can do about that other than trying to get better damage without compromising your solid defense. which probably sounds like a “captain obvious” remark :wink:

Your OA is on the low side but there’s not much you can do about that until you get better gear/augments.

You can boost your OA, lightning damage and aether resist in 1 go if you replace your amulet and one of your rings with Overseer’s Gaze (Devil’s Crossing augment).

You need “Elemental Storm” ASAP. Take Rhowan’s Crown in devotions and pick up Viper will give you OA and more resist reduction. You’ll take out enemies faster.

Replace your helmet ASAP. The armour on that is extremely bad for where you are and let’s face it- it’s rng but enemies fancy hitting you in the head.

If you have it, Light Defenders helmet and Epaulets will boost your you OA, DA, Armour, Energy Regen, decent resists and give you +1 to all skills. You don’t need the set just 2 items.

It is normal to struggle a bit with 2h melee especially for your first char.

The expansion content is pretty overtuned atm and it should be a challenge for any untwinked chars. It prepares you for Ultimate which is even harder.

Your char is well built as first char. A couple of suggestions:

  • Too much into cunning. If you have the attribute respec potion, use it and put ALL your cunning points into Physique.
  • Use Wind Devil. Again, you mainly deal Lightning damage, Raging Tempest is your best debuff. Also bind it to Reckless Tempest, it is much better to proc devotion skills than thermite mine.
  • Go for Tree of Life Devotion. You are very close its requirement, maybe respec a bit (e.g. Obelisk and crossroad, etc). Healing Rain will greatly improve your sustain in battle.
