hi. i have a steam copy from the game.i havend played the game for the last 2 months because of work. i entered today and steam asked me to update it. i dowloaded the update but when steam trys to aply the update i get the
massage: a problem occured trying to update the game(disk writting error)
F:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\downloading\219990\BitmapCreator.exe
contact the steam support for more information.
well i did go to steam support did everything they suggests but nothing helps…
anyone can help how to solve this update failure issue? i even unistaled the game and then installed it again.
and i did some suggetions i found with vredist ,dxsetup and dotnet files that i found here… they didnd helped too:/
Sounds like an Antivirus program is preventing you from updating properly. Try excluding the Grim Dawn installation folder from its scans in the AV settings.
Better yet, since you have it installed to a custom drive, exclude the whole F:\SteamLibrary\ folder.

go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common
In the “Common Folder” you should find this blank white file with the name of the game that’s giving the issue associated with it, its has no extension, just a blank white file with no data. Go ahead and delete it.
Once that’s done, go back to your steam downloads and hit the update button. It should now say “Ready to Play”. That’s it!
Hopefully, this fix can help some of you having this issue. This was a real pain for me and I’m sure it has been for many of you having this issue. If this works for you, please tell others about this fix so they don’t go around re-formatting their hard drives, deleting their games and doing other completely unnecessary things so they can just get back to gaming!
