I started playing this last week, and have been having fun with it so far. There is one thing this game is lacking, and that is a scarce amount of objects to interact with. There is so much map space but only 20% of it in each area has stuff to loot at any given time. This kind of makes the game dull to go through more than once when you know the majority of the countryside has nothing to really offer you except monster packs. It would be nice if you could sprinkle more lootable dead bodies everywhere, add more random/hidden caves, add more rocks/tree stump like objects to loot. Hell, even make the camping tents lootable, or the busted wagons you see everywhere. I think it would be a lot less boring to get the map uncovered if we had this incentive to do so.
I do have to wonder how many of the 80 or so secrets and ~20 one-shot chests you’ve found scattered about the world?
I don’t know man, I already spend more time looting stuff and clicking every damn tomb, furniture, corpse, tree, chest, breakable wall, than actual fighting. I don’t think increasing downtime even more is the right way to go.
I have been playing since build 9 and every once in a while I find one I hadn’t found before.
There is hardly any of that going on that I have seen, and I have never seen a piece of furniture able to be looted. Unless I mistook it for something else, but I doubt it…

One shot chests? The ones that don’t respawn once found right? I believe I have found them all. The loot wasn’t that great, but then again, I was on Normal difficulty for my first playthrough.
And I have found quite a bit of secret passages, but there ought to be more of them implemented.
To break and loot furniture you need to hit it with some AoE or shift-click it with your default attack. These have a good chance to drop lore notes and 2 or 3 component fragments.
Try smashing ever single book case, chair, large clocks, settees, tables etc etc there are literally 100’s of smashable bookcases alone that can and do contain loot
Did you get a blue (rare) item out of each chest as if not then you haven’t found them all
I have done that, and I have seen nothing come out of them. The only things that actually spit out loot when I break them are human remains, pots, crates, and those crystal formations near the end of the game.
Besides, even if there is stuff inside the furniture or other objects of buildings etc, that doesn’t cover the vast emptiness of the countryside that has nothing but monster groups.
Yes I have gotten an assortment of yellows, greens, and a blue from each of those golden chests. 3 of my item transfer tabs are full of blues, many of which are from those chests since that is where I seem to find them more than anything else.
All I can say is I’m stunned as I’ve never had that in over 800+ hours of playing…and they are usually some of the best places for components and lore notes.
Don’t forget all the tree stumps, rocks, pot, crates, bodies etc that litter the countryside with loot inside them
I wish it were littered with that stuff, otherwise I wouldn’t have made this thread.
I don’t think I ever got anything decent out of the minor lootables. Definitely never got a legendary, maybe a few blues over several hundred hours of play.
Back to the topic of the vast emptiness of countrysides… These are killing me man, they make me fall asleep when I go to map the place out. Every time I come to a point in the game where I know I gotta go through one I dread it and wait til the next day when I am well awake to do it. lol
Na sorry man, the amount of lootables is fine. I dont wanna click more stuff to interact with.
Hell no, can’t think of anything more boring than clicking more objects that don’t fight back…
Huh ? there are tree stumps, rocks, barrels, chests and furniture to loot. If you have not noticed that yet, I start to understand your complaint
when you take in account bosses, one shot chests, treasure troves, devotion shrines, side quests… there are really few areas where you don’t have something to reach for, so i don’t understand the complaint :undecided:
and same as others for the lootables, not the funniest part of the game by far (on a side note i was quite astonished last week when i broke a heap of bones and saw a Mutiny appears - definitively a very rare occurence in my experience)
