You’re wrong. It’s only our own opinions.

You’re right, the Van Helsing game series, especially. ** The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing**, does boast some interesting and deeper-than-usual game mechanics compared to many other action RPGs in the genre.

As stated by others, mercs would be a poor fit for GD. The itemization doesn’t make sense for it. A majority of the gear bonuses in the game applies to the Taken’s skills, so the only solution would be to load up your hireling as a retal/proc bot. If you do non-equipped mercs, then they’d just be a glorified player-scaled pet.

I’d rather we get more cosmetic pets.

x2 I wish we had a mammoth pet (cosmetics) in this next expansion

Don’t I look relaxed? And your opinion is wrong, obviously :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Apart from the companion mechanic, which I really like, what does it offer that other games don’t have?
The only games I can compare it to are Titan Quest, Torchlight 1 & 2, Victor Vran, Grim Dawn, WH40k Inquisitor Martyr and Diablo 2 Resurrected (maybe some older ones like Divine Divinity and Sacred but those are really too old to be comparable I think)

Van Helsing didn’t strike me as mechanically deeper than any of these games except maybe Victor Vran which has more focus on the Action than the RPG.
But I probably missed something since I only finished a full playthrough once with a Ray of Destruction build, unlocked only 60% of the achievements and never delved into the endgame if there is one.

You are wrong, and i will tell you why. If you did, fully play Van Helsing, you will come to know that even that game, has more mechanics build in, that Grim Dawn, only problem i have with Van Helsing, is the impact feel of the Skills/Spells, due to that, the game becomes boring AF, because from level 1 to end, just don’t feel any big improvements, for example, when you play Grim Dawn, you notice the impact when you put more points into a skill and /or as you develop your character

Van Helsing, has many end game content too.

That company, which also makes Inquisitor, they tend to design games with many mechanics, they are also busy with another ARPG too.

“It’s only opinions, relax” was not direct at you, you know and read that right?

Such as?

I know that, I was just trying to be funny. I guess I failed miserably :sob:

There is allot to mention, Volek.

Such as the system of Katarina, that alone has more features that most new ARPG these days too lol. You can also enhance items, add modifiers into it, rename any item in the game you want, you also have an exclusive pet Chimera, you can send on secret missions, to earn exclusive items too, and feeding it essence to boost it’s health and stats, to go on harder missions, that is just a few to mention and combo systems too.
