Something I only just noticed after doing a fresh start… I’d like more ‘inside’ areas. Like the Warden’s cellar. There’s a really great gloomy vibe through there with the music and pathing through the building. Great density and lootable areas. Too late now to change things, wish I’d noticed this long ago!
A lot of FoA is traversing snow, which makes sense, but it doesn’t quite feel as engaging as trampling zombies underground.
I was unpleasantly surprised by the lack of inside areas; also, I don’t understand the low-density design decision. Ashes and FG set the standard, and traversing an empty scenery (even a beautiful one) is just not engaging. The ship with more inside areas and dungeons, it seems like has sailed, but I really do hope for a big density update.
I actually remember Ashes feeling quite empty the first time I went through all of Ugdenbog. I think density has been upped since and if you don’t know where you’re going it has quite big areas of only monsters, but I distinctly remember that feeling first time through. I’ve been through FoA a fair few times now and it also feels more dense if you know the path you’re travelling, though it could always do with more (particularly in the Freyoll Valley and some of the paths between areas north of Ulo’s Springs.
Or, for a different take, some of the traversal areas just need to be a bit narrower. In saying that the idea is that a lot of the North FoA areas are inhospitable or desolated lands, so…
The bog is one of the most disliked areas of ashes because it’s big, but I actually like it a lot. Sylvarria`s dungeon, even though short, is very cool and packed with monsters. Also the witch hut is there, with some quests and stuff, I really like it.
Comparing all the inside areas in the other part of the game with FOA for example, the very first cave I came across, I was thinking and wondering what coolness expects me inside, and it was just a lone wolf boss… Also, the rift tears, compared to the other rifts, felt really short.
Also most of the inside and underground areas are frozen caves, which is just not that cool, but of course there is some really good stuff, like the riddles quest house. I loved it; it was incredible.
Aside from the slightly increased mob density, I think there should be more clickable objects in these areas. More corpses, rocks, bones, and tree stumps to search through. You just end up running around there more than doing anything else that makes H’n’S fun to play. All of this makes the dopamine rush for me very low…
It is too big for what it does. The areas around Kurnhold are too big and boring. Beginning and end of the act is good though. Kurnhold is too big. It is far to important people and it lowers FPS also.
Also the game now needs a single playthrough vesrion.
You have the right to think that, but I have a different opinion on the matter. A game is supposed to be fun first and foremost, not just monotonous running around locations. Variety? That’s exactly what FoA lacks in certain aspects.
Anyway, setting aside the areas covered in snow, the rest suffer from a similar problem
Please let the balance sit for a while at least in endgame. I initially thought some enemies are hilariously broken, but once you learn how they work it becomes actually quit fun working around their skills. Dare I say the struggle was fun like back in good old full-aggro Shattered Bossroom?
The only thing I might want to see added, is some indicator for projectile-shotgun-abilities , so you have something visual like the thingy with the final boss and can dodge accordingly.
And yes pleas don’t nerf the Dread. Most fun fight i had in the game for a long time. Making it rarer seems like a good idea though. While i lived in my cellar since the Addon dropped I already encountered him 3 times. Clapped him the 3rd time
Will write up some bigger Feedback once the dust has settled, for now I will just say that every one at is fucking awesome. You guys knocked it out the park!
Well i hit 60 and just started AoM - playing on Veteran - well some of the boss fights in dungeons are super quick i get oneshots instantly from 65 levels - Berseker+Nightblade iam not doing them colosal damages have about 8,5 k life - i rarely see any upgrades for my equipment. Legends not drop at all , i would not to start higher difficulty to get more quality from start. That is unfortunate IMHO. Iam not an caster at all and have maxed points in treees to get max hp and stats. My tactis for that bosses is to spawn Blade Spirit and hide arround corners. Of course game. reducing damage will reduce also survivability since fight will take longer and i will still die from that insane damage that Bosses do. I have maxed out Form of the beast and Untamed Rage. But since i get lazorbeam that instantly remove my toon i feel that skip the bosses is the method since they are more powerfull each level i get. As example Anasteria in Fort Ikon and some first dungeon boss in AoM. Switching to be a more tanky propably let me stay with 2 hits
