Farming with sub-optimal gear?

I’m in a bit of a dilemma here. I have my first level 100 character and my gear could use a lot of work. I specifically need to find legendary items, but all the places I can find recommended (Crucible, Steps of Torment, Bastion of Chaos) I do not yet have the gear to complete successfully. So…where do I farm in order to be able to access normal farming spots? I’m honestly quite surprised at how little information I’ve been able to find about the topic.

twin falls waypoint down into the bee hive is a fast run that can be done with very little effort and has 1 blue boss and usually 3+ heroes. even with farily bad gear you can probably do a run in 3 minutes or so.

cronley runs are also quite easy to pull off. 2 blue bosses (cronley & moneybags), possibly 3 if you made the deal with direni. and usually a couple of heroes.

if you don’t want to start new session every 3 minutes, you can also simply do both and then start a new session.

And, if you like to port a little bit:

  • Hidden Path Bosses
  • Depraved Sanctuary
  • Aetherial Boss on the border to Gloomwood

???

Which one are you talking about?

The one north of Burrwich.

Thanks for the advice guys. I had been trying out Cronley’s Hideout but wasn’t impressed with the results. I guess that’s as good as it gets though.

Best place in campaign to farm if you can’t yet do any Nemesis really is the wasp hive near the Twin Falls rift (this has actually been demonstrated with time trials) at least as far as legendaries go.

Keep in mind with also Crucible that you don’t need to do Gladiator. Even Aspirant difficulty waves 130-150 gives an excellent reward and should be doable by most well constructed builds with epics/not-super-badass greens (as opposed to super optimized double rares which are even harder than legendaries to get)

I can do the undead nemesis, but even with 80% cold resist his meteors nearly kill me in two hits, and his freeze trap things are a permastun - so guaranteed death. It takes far too long to kill him and the rewards have frankly been pathetic the 5 or so times I’ve done it so far.

I think I made it to about wave 113 on aspirant and 85 on gladiator. I have too many important resistances lacking and I can’t make up for all of them through equipment mods.

the undead nemesis gets a lot easier if you craft some of those consumables that reduce freeze duration by 100% (i think it’s called “hoarfrost ointment”). the cost is quite trivial (i think it costs 1 aether crystal and some iron bits or something) and it laste for 5 minutes.
