Making Upheaval a chance for other WPS to be an AoE

That would be zero help with filling out the WPS pool.
Which is one of the main struggles for 2-H default attackers.

Zolhan’s Technique and Necrotic Edge are already 2H viable WPS that have up to 180 degree rotation with modifiers to make them basically Upheaval amounts of AoE.

The larger problem is that 2H DWAR melee has nothing to offer in terms of unique gameplay. Feral Hunger and Reaping Edge have tons of leech, but you need a ton of global sustain to survive through the attacks that aren’t those specific WPS, so the extra ADCTH is wasted. Zolhan / Smite / Necrotic Edge are just different flavors of the same “WPS with psuedo-AoE capabilities”

Then you have something like Markovian’s Advantage which… grants 150 flat DA reduction? I haven’t heard anything about the Markovian WPS outside of… it’s there and fills up the pool.

At least gunners have things like Brimstone and shotgun potential which rewards smart positioning. Primal Strike has Lightning Bolts that hit what the main weapon doesn’t. What can Savagery / Righteous Fervor with WPS pool give that rewards the player for choosing it over something like Forcewave?

Fire Strike gives you damage, more damage and even more damage. Oh and some chance to knock back mobs which is always nice. You can’t go wrong with more damage I guess.

Righteous Fervor gives you DA, Armor, Attack Speed and RATA. The ele res bonus is useless tough.

Savagery gives you Attack Speed, health regen bonus, slow res, OA, and phys res for 2H.

If you play melee, RF ans Savagery feel like the safest options compared.

I am going to patiently wait to the release of 1.3.0, and I want to see, how the “new” Upheaval works with DW gunner builds and 2H gunner builds.
And it is a nice addition to have the possibility to incorporate Upheaval as a new “normally” working WPS. There are some lovely items for Physical Warders (2H) and Upheaval is part of those items and WPS pool can be filled up to 100% with no need to search for a WPS on gear.
