That devotion has a great damage boost and is kind of OP in general. However, chance on proc drags it into the bottom in normal campaign.
Upsides of Abominable Might:
- Solid damage boost which sometimes may even double your damage.
- Proc has a nicely long duration, which allows you to clear some waves of enemies.
- Grants some tankiness - 25% HP
Downsides:
- Very weak in normal campaign since it needs to kill a target. In some cases, you’re unable to proc it because you’re fighting one boss which doesn’t spawn anything.
- Solidly good in Crucible. If you bind it to your most powerful skill (or a skill that surely oneshots a trash mob or a boss in a wave where few bosses spawn) your clear speed even doubles.
- Chance on kill is only good in waves of monsters (Crucible delivers free procs most of the time).
Basically, there’s no reason to pick it in normal campaign because of the on-kill proc. Crucible players may also dislike it in Crucible because you may be too weak in defense to even facetank a wave or use it while kiting.
My idea of fixing this devotion:
Reduce the duration to 5 seconds, reduce the minimum damage granted to half of current value, reduce physical -> chaos to 35% (from 50%), health gained to 20% and make it 10% chance to proc on hit or 20% on crit. This way we’re gonna have a great damage boosting skill that is actually useful on chaos builds.
