Feedback about Farthest Frontier

I’m new and this is only my second early access game. And I noticed that on game forums they often write only what can and should be improved. Or about game problems. (Although the developers themselves ask for this).
I decided to list what I really liked about this game.

  • Peaceful mode. This is very cool.
  • Beautiful and detailed graphics. For example, the theater building is, well, very very beautiful.
  • Gradually increasing difficulty. The game is neither easy nor difficult. And it’s cool.
  • Continuous problem solving. Lack of resources, luxury, etc. You have to pause and think about solutions. The game develops logic.
  • The music is beautiful.
  • Original ideas. Change of seasons and various problems/opportunities associated with it.
  • Constant search for the ideal location, accommodation, construction, better logistics.

Now the game is already good.
And it gets better and better with every patch.
This is great.

I will write what could be improved and what I have encountered.
I play in peaceful mode, 150 hours, 1-1002 inhabitants, 1/2+pause speed, only patch 0.8.0.

My English is weak, so I use pictures more often.
As a newbie, just wanted to share my thoughts on possible improvements.

Might be useful.

  1. Construction in the forest:
    This causes very great difficulties. Causes discomfort. Be it a building, be it a road.
    Solution: Do something about it.
    Solution2. You can just make it part of the game. That “Building in the forest is difficult because your lumberjacks haven’t cut it down.” Then that’s part of the game. And it doesn’t look like a bug. Just somewhere would pop up a hint about it.

  2. Moving through the same buildings.
    These two arrows in the interface are very much missing.
    It seems to me that this is a big block of work.

  3. Automation (after 400 inhabitants).
    A great button for auto-upgrading houses. If there were still the same buttons for:

  • Compost (Autocompost)
  • Repair (Autorepair)
  1. More resources in the interface line.
  • It would be cool when at 3rd or 4th level. Or after getting education above 60 or 70. The second line would open at the resource indicator in the main interface.
  1. Feeling the progress and completeness of the map.
    There is a desire to see all the graphics for all the years of passage. It is possible that you will add this closer to the end of EA.

These are small things that would add convenience. Purely subjective, of course.


6. Build menu “Decorations” in the center of the screen.
It is very uncomfortable. Since it closes part of the information about the improvement of houses.
Decision: Very noticeable in big towns. Move the menu up, please.

  1. Don’t have hot key “Analitic Pages (Graphs)” on “Menu->Controls”.
    Decision: Sometimes it’s necessary

  2. Professions. Required minimum laborers for logistic. No information
    Decision: Maybe tooltip, maybe 131/93, maybe 131/93 + tooltip. I really miss this information .

  3. Water map. Looks unfinished. No information about wells
    Decision:
    Highlight full wells in blue
    Highlight empty wells in white
    This will help. Since these are the smallest buildings and they are constantly lost on the map. Then a water map would be useful.
