It would have to be a lot of %WD for BA to be better than cadence, yeah. There is some slight synergy as spellscourge has cdr and time dilation is standard so the value of transmuted BA is increased. However it would be very annoying to actually play because deadly momentum is a PITA to make use of with low AS, effectively only 3 second up-time before you need to re-trigger.

I’d say part of the problem with it is just the fact the IEE conversion is forced if using IEE, but ALL Arcanist use IEE at least at 1 point for the 25% crit damage. If IEE’s conversion was moved to the transmutor (Would make it more accessible at low investment for builds that want it, but builds that want flat damage or to just grab Elemental Balance don’t have to have it either).
Scrap the per-level conversion growth, increase the flat elemental damage by a bit (To make up for the builds that need to invest more points in IEE to get conversion if they needed it), add on 10-20-30% phys to Elemental to the player to the transmuter.
Conversion of Phys to elemental on IEE is very much a relic of the old days where enemy armor actually was a major damage reduction to physical damage rather than the current joke of a reduction it is, and as such if not building for physical damage you wanted to convert away from it at all just to make sure the damage didn’t just get completely eaten by the armor.
Thinking about it now templar might work out pretty well with spellscourge. Ascension, energy regen, shield support, nice exclusive, -% rr which allows for manticore on top. Will be skill point intense though I guess.

even before release i thought that Speelscourge were a good candidate for a Templar set.
maybe they could replace BA support with Judgement, at least it’s also a spell. or Ascension and add some retal into the mix. keep overguard support ofc.
I hope RF is supported, but Judgement is also interesting.
Arcanist doesn’t have a +% retal, so it sounds difficult, but it’s fun to imagine that.

I’m very sorry, but nothing has improved. The opinion remains the same as when this thread was created a long time ago.
- 1h + Shield BA sucks. Both Spam and Clean Sweep are weak.
- It is difficult to stack flat physical because you are hungry for skill points.
Consider adding +x Overguard to all items. There is no room to shake the points. - Despite having a shield, it is far more fragile than VIT build.
- Consider adding flat physical instead of useless% Elemental dmg.

The concept is a combination of the Cold version of Markovian and SotT.
You can use maces that no one wants to use, and you can also take advantage of the benefits of shields.
However, the lack of RR will be a problem here as well.
Or change to AAR + Blitz. AARs need to stay still to shoot, and Blitz gets a shield bonus, so both can benefit from shields.
