[Feedback] Forcewave and Primal Strike

Proc potential.

Okay, so I am going to be the devil’s advocate here. I am actively using Primal Strike on my Druid and skills is pretty nutty. My “damage dealt” in character sheet is 681k. With full Ultos I have it on 2,1 seconds cooldown and one hit sometimes evaporates a pack of heroes in crucible. Single target damage is nutty as well.

Skill does have few problems. First, with Ultos area bonuses to Primal Strike Torrent becomes kinda meh investment, you already hit a huge area, so that little chain lightning isn’t doing much compared to the main skill. Second, bleeding bonuses from Storm Surge are ridiculous and pretty useless. Make them Electrocute bonuses instead, Primal Strike is a pure ligtning skill unlike Savagery, there is zero need for bleeding damage here, PS build doesn’t have any bleeding support ever. And third, mechanics of PS are a bit clunky. Sometimes it kinda “whiffs”, like I hit a mob with it but instead off huge lightning bolts from sky only torrent procs.

Also, it’s annoying that when you hit with PS on a cooldown, your character autoattacks instead of using Savagery which is bound to your LMB.

Enemies in Crucible have like a third of the health they have in vanilla, so not really a measure of how effective it is. And i bet i can do much more damage with transmuted PS during the 2 seconds recharge of untransmuted PS.

I made a PS Elementalist and it did fine. AoE clearing was rather fast but as soon i bumped into a beefy enemy, it would take more than usual. While Forcewave has the same clear speed and going physical with Mythical Stonefist Rebuke, it just has more dps.

What kind of test should I do to prove its effectiveness then?

When you replace Oleron’s Might with Primal Strike for nukes then which one contributes more to your “effective DPS”?

Haven’t been using Oleron’s Might for a long time. But Primal Strike is superior in terms of damage for me because I have a lightning focuses druid, and I am not even mentioning AOE that Primal Strike with Ultos has (and much lower cooldown, 2,2 seconds versus 3,5 seconds)

Here is how it works against Kuba for example
