I was thinking about making a fire Grenado build, or rather an auto attacking build with usage of Grenado, so I checked the modifiers for it on GT, and found this, literally useless item. Why useless? Gun is purely physical damage based, converts 100% physical to fire to Grenado, and because of that we end up with either useless Grenado or useless auto attacks. There’s literally no reason of picking that gun, unless you want to be weird and make a Grenado caster build without any boosts for that particular skill, which is a waste. Also, why does it convert only 80% physical to fire in Grenado?
Another issue is no attack nor casting speed. This gun has interesting skill modifiers, but is shit in general.
What would be a good change is changing the physical base damage to fire, or adding physical to fire conversion. Some attack or casting speed would not be bad too. Remove the chance of stun, because it’s rather useless.
It’s kind an interesting piece and it would be fairly specific to a dedicated fire grenado caster build.
As it is an 84 piece, it is obviously pre-AoM and likely forgotten in the AoM introduction (otherwise I guarantee it would have had inquisitor bonuses all over it! …lol)
So prior Ulzins chozen had 10% conversion which was removed in the last update, and I 'm guessing 90% was Crate’s target % in the past. There doesn’t seem to be any consistency with this number of late, though.
Wpn damage added to Grenado will be converted as well, so the physical is not so critical there.
TLDR: imho if it is going to be thematically grenado/canister, then both the canister and grenado conversion should be 100%.
It is not pre-AoM. It was added in AoM and changed a bit in one of last patches iirc. Item level cap was 75 before AoM. Also, there were no skill modifiers before AoM.
Ah, ok. I forgot where 84 fits in and some of the 84s often seem weaker than 75. Base GD is a memory.
Anyways, TLDR still stands. Needs 100% conversion physical-> fire on grenado/canister and perhaps some %cdr. 100% conversion because it is a 2H that will be used on a caster build.
After a brief foray into a theory craft, I’ll append my suggestion to:
100% conversion to skill + some energy regen. If using Soldier, energy regen is an issue.
Yes, you can pull some regen from components and devotions, but the result isn’t that interesting imho. Since this 2H weapon is aimed at a caster commando theme…it might as well have more caster stats.
Imo a shootist-build would rather use mortar trap, grenado and canister bomb are terrible skills. One does decent damage with the radius of a needlepoint, and the other would be pretty neat, if not for the 12 hour cooldown. :rolleyes:
Maxing the firestrike line will grant you kick-ass dmg and kill speed, even if you go commando and use cadence + mortar trap, you will fare better than with grenado + cannister bomb.
Both skills look very cool, but they are so clunky to use, ugh.
They have a great personality though. :undecided:
