Mythical Bloodsong. Clearly a weapon tailored for Bleed Nightblades (and a great one in that). However, it has also minor support of pierce damage, but base % armor piercing is really low for some obscure reason. Even with Blades of Nadaan devotion and a Blessed Whetstone we can only get physical to pierce conversion to 37,5% which is practically useless. So in it’s current state weapon delivers great Bleeding damage but most of it’s base damage is physical which is not supported neither by bleeding builds nor the weapon itself.
Suggestion: get its piercing value to 40-50%.
Mythical Notched Bone of a Thousand Deaths. A legend from the old Grim Dawn days that used to put fear into player’s hearts when wielded by Fabius. Nowadays, a gimmick that can’t be really used in any kind of build. Same problem, %pierce support, but base % armor piercing value is incredibly low (it also has %vitality damage support for some reason but no conversion), so it can’t be used in a pierce build. It has great proc, but it if you want to use in a physical build, it has no %physical damage boost either.
Suggestion: get its piercing value to 40-50% and/or add + %physical instead of vitality. Or heck, add physical to vitality conversion if you want to make a Reaper weapon out of it. Make up your mind about it, Crate.
Malmouth Slicer. A budget placeholder for pierce builds, but again, very low base %armor piercing.
Bump it up to 40-50%.
Redeemer of Malmouth. Very very cool looking weapon with a cool “resistance vibe” to it. It was used by Superfluff in his first iteration of his legendary Belgothian Slaughter build, which started the new glorious era of pierce builds. But. Even Fluff had to give up on it. And you guessed why, that’s right, because of the low base %armor piercing.
Bump it up to 40-50%.
Mythical Guillotine. 15% armor piercing. Uhhh. Why? Weapon designed to be used by Shamans/Soldiers/Necromancers, why there is this %armor piercing there? It doesn’t change how good weapon is, but it just looks so out of place.
Remove it.
Mythical Valdun’s Rifle. There is a reason you don’t see full Valdun set builds. It’s because 50% base piercing freaking sucks. You can’t bump it’s value by using Blessed Whetstone or Sword of Nadaan devotion, so you can never fully convert its damage. All the while pure Bleed weapon Mythical Gutripper has mind blowing 80% armor piercing (and has %pierce support) but it’s NEVER used on a Nightblade or Inquisitor.
Bump the piercing to 60-75% so full conversion can be achieved with a set and mythical pack of treacherous means belt.
Mythical Silverbolt Such a cool weapon conceptually, Grim Dawn’s vampire hunter (except Chtonians are vampires). But again, LOW BASE % ARMOR PIERCING. Why?
Bump it up to 70-80%.
Maybe I forgot something, but overall it seems like a lot of those design decisions are kind of half-hearted and half-assed or maybe come from the old days where pierce was too overpowered and had to be nerfed. Nowadays Pierce is great again, but except Belgothian there are no really good builds you can do, and it’s partly because of those half-assed base %armor piercing values that limit Pierce builds to couple of weapons and just one set.
And no, bumping those values won’t make all those weapons op, it will just add variety to pierce meta.
EDIT:
Totally forgot about Mythical Brutallax. Same shit as previously listed weapons, very low base %armor piercing that prevents it from being used in any builds.
Currently, the weapon is the only hope for making a piercing forcewave. Please add %cast speed, +%pierce damage, and +%bleed damage, also +1 to soldier while we are at it. You can reduce the %attack speed and omit the +2 tenacity of the boar in the weapon if you want.
Why not seal? And add extended duration to seal too, as well as +4 to forcewave and +2 inq.
Mythical brutallax tho. Give it 50% AP, some pierce savagery support (even just 1 or 2 items), and pierce savagery trickster is suddenly good. Just partner it with derp slicer and blades of nadaan node also affects brutallax IIRC.
Crate seriously need to put their corporate (and life) values into perspective, maybe drive out into a Mexican desert and have some trancendiary bonding experience over a bowl of freshly squized mescaline while listening to early Sufjan Stevens and finally BUFF FORCEWAVE AND SOLDIER PROPERLY BECAUSE GOD DAMN IT CRATE
Christ, Fluff, we’ve been memeing about “buff Inquisitor/Forcewave” for few months now, and I think I even explained to you in some other thread that I am just being sarcastic and trolling because obviously FW is the best skill in-game and it is most beloved by developers.
Unless of course you are taking it couple of levels deeper and trolling back. HMMMMMMMM.
