[Feedback] Vitality DK gear setup

Upcoming patch v1.0.6.0 will bring new set to support vitality DK builds. It is great, but there are some concerns if certain items will provide sufficient support.

  1. Vitality DK builds with weapon & shield.
    Issues: For now we have 2 items suitable for this kind of builds:(Mythical) Dread Knight’s Guard and (Mythical) Dread Knight’s Legplates. While shoulders is with no doubts the best choice, we can’t say the same for legplates - there are other alternatives and some of it looks like to be the better choice.

Proposal: The shoulders and legplates seems to be like pseudo-set and it would be great if we buff legplates - add Aether Damage convertion to Vitality Damage. It will make legplates more useful and could compensate the difference in damage comapare to dual and 2H builds or at least boost it.

  1. Vitality dual and 2H DK builds
    Issue: The new set Blood Knight will provide solid support for DK builds focused on vitality damage. However I have big concern regarding shoulders - Blood Knight scrolls. The lack of convertion seems to be noticeable disadvantage. Honestly I will prefer to equip Mythical Dread Knight’s Guard to gain more vitality damage rather than to complete the set.

Proposal: Provide convertion bonus to the shoulders like it was done for the helm or for (Mythical) Dread Knight’s Guard.

I don’t recall legplates having conversion in the game, it’s not an engine limitation. More of a balancing decision to restrict RR and conversion to certain equipment slots
So I don’t it’s a good idea to add conversion to leggings

While I am in favor of conversion on shoulders. There’s a slight problem. Judging by what I saw in Zantai’s stream the pets seemed strong to me so balancing this would be hard. Of course player scaled pets have been nothing shitholes so far in my experience excluding WD, Totem and Traps ofc. So maybe I am wrong.

In general there’s a problem with partial conversion among new sets. Even Ragaddon has odd conversions. Either remove them or add a second source for them.

Sry mate but you haven’t yet played it. Whether you play it at face value or DW soulbearer or whatever the set is doing quite well let’s just say. Just give it a chance;)

It also has a ton of convert.

**Common Problem - Mix Damage Types

Why the heck are dual damage types on sets even a thing? It barely works and when you add conversions to the mix its good for neither of the damage types.
Look at Wildblood for Christ Sake, it has been Bleed/Vitality for ages. The blees variant is abysmal while the Vitality variant is just plain awesome to the point new players can use it as a farming char

Personally i love the concept of grnado/blade trap espionage char.

As for damage let’s wait and see,

Unless something has changed from the preview screenshots Rimetongue will suck as unless looked over some crucial detail.

The other two sets are good no doubt, Ragadoon’s Elemental to Viality conversion is certainly in the wrong place.

But yeah let’s wait wait for the Hentai Patch :stuck_out_tongue:

Well not on an Acid Set at least and if this set wants to be Vitality focused then the Acid mod needs to buzz off and if it wants to be Acid focused the opposite applies

Abyssal Mask (the BDSM mask with Blood Pox bonuses) has spare slots and is barely used anywhere.
Any other Vitality Item would do but that’s the first one that comes to mind.

Blood knight Helm look nice for CDR vitality casters focused around Bone harvest. Other pieces look like garbage and the full set is kinda meh.
Ragadan is weird. Vitality DE apostate can use it?
Rimetonge pendant is God tier.

Since I haven’t tried it I am can’t comment on the strength but the preview shown by Zantai made the pets look promising. I am always skeptical about Player Scaled things though but these guys had crazily good movesets

Vitality Apostate already has support some support (including RR being provided to the Inquisitor Mastery while Acid doesn’t have any good support.
This set is the perfect opportunity for a brand new Acid/Poison Set. That Vitality conversion basically pisses on everything [/QUOTE]

Seriously though, I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that this item is the best Pierce item added in AoM
I mean I like Belgothian but it’s one set so the number of build possibilities with it are kinda limited. This item single-handedly opens up many build opportunities like reviving the dead concept of Avatar of Oleron (Fluff?)

And I will definitely give it a try! Well, based on screenshots from dev stream it has a ton of convert for BH and CS. However my builds will use other attack skills, so addtional aether convert to vitality would be good. BTW, we already can get at least 50% of aether damage convert to vitality by using Dreadwalker Cowl helm and (Mythical) Dread Knight’s Guard. :wink:

Why? Helm look nice, pendant is mediocre. Chest is just a piece of garbage and shoulders are even worse. From what I see -%RR is tied to a pet and from my experience these pets tend to die faster that cooldown can recharge.
70%WD to Bone harvest is tasty, but, do we really need it?

And the pets are very tough;) And don’t forget CS only 0.3 CD with MI shield

Well, I plan to test the set and its pieces for vitality 2H and shield builds. The last one seems have lack of damage as for now.

MI Shield + soulbearer DK or 2x soulbearer cabalist/ritualist imo

This reminds me, Blood Knight can also potentially house the Elemental to Vitality conversion that’s been awkwardly placed on Ragaddon

Maybe. But both DK and any DW variant one would fancy should be really solid.
