Field Storage Orientation

Hello,
Is there a way to tell where the little 2 tile storage area on a field will go before placing a field because it’s location can impact the logistics of getting from one field to the next in back to back harvests, especially when the fields are massive. I also just want them facing closer to my root cellars because - aesthetics.

For the longest time I thought the way to do it was by starting in the corner where you wanted the storage area to be, then sizing the edge of the field you DONT want it to go on (say width), then sizing the side you do want it to go on (e.g. length). So to get the storage orientated in the below way you’d start in the top left, drag down then drag right.

SSXXXX
XXXXXX
XXXXXX

However, when I try to make a second field and have the storage in the bottom left along the length I cannot follow this rule and it always ends up along the width.

I’d be interested to know if anyone has found a way to draw a field with 100% knowing where the storage goes. It’s annoying having to save before tilling, then fast forward 6-9 months until the area pops up during work.

I think the direction you drag has an effect, but only in terms of placement, not orientation. So say I start in the upper left and drag down and right - the storage will always be at the upper right and horizontal, regardless if I’m making a long or tall field. Similarly, if I start a field in the upper right and drag down and left, I get a storage area in the upper right, but vertical.

This is probably because the actual field model is just rotating 90 degrees for each different starting point. I’d expect:

SSXXXXXX
XXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXX

XXXXXXXS
XXXXXXXS
XXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXX

XXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXX
XXXXXXSS

XXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXX
SXXXXXXX
SXXXXXXX

Hope this helps!

thanks, fam!
